Innovative approach to electric vehicle diagnostics

Electromobility is associated with the ever faster development and introduction of new electric vehicles to the market. They use an electric motor to drive the wheels of the vehicle and the necessary electricity is stored in traction batteries. Electric vehicles have a different construction than traditional vehicles i.e. those powered by internal combustion engines. For this reason, the manner of use, maintenance and service are different. Familiarization with selected operational issues of electric vehicles positively affects the reliability of their use as well as safety and comfort of driving. An important component of electric vehicles is the traction battery. Its proper operation influences the long-term preservation of the initial energy capacity and, thus, the range of the vehicle. The article presents tests of the state of traction batteries of a small electrically powered city vehicle. The vehicle, the batteries and the diagnostic devices used to assess the condition of the battery are described in detail. Based on the literature analysis and the observation of market trends, a fast and effective method of assessment of the technical condition of batteries in electric vehicles is proposed. The method has been tested on the selected vehicle. The technical condition of the battery in the vehicle was assessed after 4.5 years of operation and 30,000 km mileage.

The concept of an innovative support tool for freight transport used in planning, organization and realization is presented in this paper. In addition to the basic functions of a fleet management tool, the educative approach towards environmentally friendly behaviour will be based on promoting ecological solutions, such as unconventionally powered cars, e.g., electric vehicles (EVs). The suggested criteria for a routing algorithm, which will be implemented in the freight transport planner tool, not only allows routing in relation to time and cost criteria, but also the criterion regarding the limitation of emissions of harmful factors. The implementation of innovative the S-mile platform gives rise to environmentally friendly cognition behaviour in the freight transport sector. This is a fundamental aspect to its application, which could help to move the planning, organization and realization of freight transport in the direction of more environmental friendly solutions.

The papers discusses selected economic and environmental aspects of using compressed natural gas (CNG) as an alternative fuel in the urban public transport, on the basis of MPK Rzeszów experience (the company is a national leader in the use of CNG). The progress made in the use of CNG as a fuel was shown at EU and global levels (countries with largest numbers of NGV vehicles were pointed out). Then, the paper presents key conditions for the extended use of CNG in Poland, compared with selected EU countries, paying particular attention to the use of this fuel in the urban public transport.

W artykule przedstawiono wybrane aspekty ekonomiczne i ekologiczne w zakresie wykorzystania sprężonego gazu ziemnego (CNG) jako paliwa alternatywnego w komunikacji miejskiej na przykładzie MPK Rzeszów (przedsiębiorstwo to jest krajowym liderem w zakresie wykorzystania tego paliwa). Przedstawiono postęp w stosowaniu CNG jako paliwa zarówno w skali Unii Europejskiej, jak i świata (pokazano państwa, które w których jest najwięcej pojazdów na CNG). Przybliżono główne uwarunkowania rozwoju wykorzystania CNG w Polsce na tle wybranych krajów UE, zwracając szczególną uwagę na zastosowanie tego paliwa w komunikacji miejskiej.

[...] Celem artykułu jest zaprezentowanie rozwiązań podejmowanych przez przedsiębiorstwa realizujące przewozy pasażerskie w Gdyni na rzecz ograniczenia substancji szkodliwych i emisji hałasu. Przedstawiono zalety eksploatowania trolejbusów jako ekologicznej formy transportu miejskiego. Ponadto zaprezentowano możliwość wykorzystania autobusów z napędem hybrydowym do realizowana przewozów pasażerskich. Szczególną uwagę zwrócono na zastosowanie sprężonego gazu ziemnego w Przedsiębiorstwie Komunikacji Miejskiej. W artykule opisano ekologiczne i ekonomiczne aspekty eksploatacji pojazdów napędzanych paliwem ON i CNG. Zaprezentowano również wybrane modele trolejbusów i autobusów używanych w gdyńskiej komunikacji miejskiej w kontekście ekologicznego transportu.

Nowadays we place a great emphasis on ecology in every area of human life. Modern cities are faced with a broad range of problems, which comprises many of ecological nature, including overcrowding, air and water pollution, traffic jams, noise. Increasing mobility of society is the main reason behind the rise in adverse effects of public transport among the inhabitants of large agglomerations. Companies providing services for public transport, trying to meet the needs and requirements of the European Union, engage in an increasing number of projects supporting the development of environmentally friendly urban transport. This type of initiatives includes: purchase of means of transport meeting the highest environmental emission standards, use of hybrid vehicles and use of alternative fuels to power public transport, use of vehicles powered by solar energy and activities aiming at noise reduction. These are just a few of the methods employed in urban transport. The aim of the article is to present the solutions adopted by the enterprises providing services for passenger transport in Gdynia in order to reduce pollution and noise effects. The article presents the advantages of using trolleybuses as the eco-friendly form of public transport. Moreover, the possibility of using hybrid buses is discussed in this article. The author`s attention is paid especially to the use of compressed natural gas, which takes place in the Company of Urban Transport in Gdynia. The article deals with the ecological and economical aspects of public transport. Selected models of trolleybuses and buses used in public transport in Gdynia are also presented in the context of green transport.

Artykuł dotyczy zagadnień ekologicznego układu transportowego w krajach Unii Europejskiej. We współczesnym mieście pojawia się nowa jakościowo kategoria przestrzeni urbanistycznej, będąca wynikiem gwałtownego rozwoju środków transportu, nieznanych jeszcze na początku ubiegłego stulecia. W krajobrazie zurbanizowanym zaistniały nowe elementy zagospodarowania, będące atrybutami funkcji niezbędnych we współczesnym mieście. Poważne problemy transportowe współczesnego miasta wymuszają zastosowanie nowoczesnych metod planistycznych ukierunkowanych ekologicznie zgodnie z zasadami zrównoważonego rozwoju.

The subject of this article is an ecological system of transportation of European Union countries. In contemporary cities a new kind of urban structure is appearing, witch is a result of sudden development of new means of transport. Consequently in urban landscape, we can observe new structural elements witch are representative of the function of the today's cities. Serious transportation problems necessitate the application of modern methods of urban planning witch are, according to rules of sustainable development.
