W pracy przedstawiono algorytm postępowania dla ustalenia odcinka linii średniego napięcia objętego uszkodzeniem przez zwarcie z ziemią jednego z przewodów fazowych. Omówiono także problemy związane z błędnymi interpretacjami doziemiemień i sposoby ich unikania przez pomiary prądów w wielu miejscach.

The work presents an algorithm for determining the section of a medium voltage line damaged by a short circuit to ground of one of the phase conductors. Problems related to misstaken interpretations of earth faults and ways to avoid them by measuring currents in many places are also discussed.

In the publication there are presented most popular passive methods of continuous insulation monitoring in live low voltage unearthed AC networks. There are given formulas for determination of insulation equivalent resistance for multi-phase networks sources with both symmetrical and asymmetrical voltages. Novel solution of elimination of the most popular measuring scheme’s shortcomings is proposed. New methods of insulation resistance measurement and earth fault location based on supervision of test current flow imposed by modified diode rectifier scheme are presented.

W artykule przedstawiono zagadnienia związane z wykrywaniem i lokalizacją zwarć doziemnych w sieciach SN. Uwagę skupiono na liniach kablowych i kablowo-napowietrznych. Przedstawiono wielkość kryterialną – prąd w obwodzie uziemienia żył powrotnych, po czym opisano sposób wykorzystania prądu uziemiającego na potrzeby wykrywania i lokalizacji zwarć doziemnych w sieciach SN. W kolejnej części artykułu przedstawiono wyniki badań symulacyjnych dla różnych przypadków zwarć doziemnych w liniach kablowych i kablowo-napowietrznych. Przedstawione zależności stały się podstawą opracowania algorytmu wykrywania i lokalizacji zwarć omawianego w artykule. Rozważania potwierdzono, wykonując eksperyment sieciowy w sieci dystrybucyjnej SN.

The paper presents issues related to the detection and location of earth faults in MV networks. Attention has been focused on cable and cable-overhead lines. The criterion value - the cable screen earthing current is presented, and then the method of utilization of the earthing current for the purpose of detection and location of earth faults in MV networks is described. The next part of the article presents the results of simulation tests for various cases of earth faults in cable and cable-overhead lines. The presented dependencies have become the basis for the development of the earth fault detection and location algorithm presented in the paper. The presented considerations were confirmed by performing a network experiment in the MV distribution network.
