Koncepcja implementacji modemów IVS i PSAP systemu eCall w technologii SDR

W pierwszej części artykułu przedstawiono najważniejsze założenia tworzonego obecnie pod auspicjami organów Unii Europejskiej systemu eCall. W szczególności skupiono się na opisie funkcjonalności dwóch najważniejszych bloków systemu, tj. modułów IVS oraz PSAP, a ponadto scharakteryzowano tzw. minimalny zestaw danych MSD. Przedstawiono również technikę in-band modem, która będzie wykorzystywana w systemie do równoległej transmisji sygnałów mowy oraz danych. W drugiej części referatu zaprezentowano wykonany w ramach grantu NR10-0016-06/2009 sprzętowy prototyp modułów IVS oraz , funkcjonujący według aktualnej wersji standardu systemu eCall. Prototyp ten został w całości zrealizowany w technologii radia definiowalnego programowo SDR (Software Defined Radio).

In the first part of this paper all import ant and necessary features of the eCall system, which is now being created under auspices of European Union, were presented. In particular, the authors concentrated on the description of the functionalities of the two, the most important components of the system, which are IVS and PSAP modem modules. Moreover the Minimal Set of Data (MSD) was characterized and the in-band technology was presented, which will be utilized for parallel transmission of the voice and data signals in the eCall system. In the second part, a prototype hardware module of the IVS and PSAP modems was presented. The prototype implements the newest version of the eCall standard and was fully done in the Software Defined Radio (SDR) technology.

W artykule przedstawiono najważniejsze informacje dotyczące techniki transmisji danych w kanale głosowym GSM, tzw. in-band modem opracowanej z myślą o systemie automatycznego powiadamiania o wypadkach drogowych - eCall. Technika ta została opracowana przez amerykańską firmę Qualcomm i umożliwia realizację transmisji tzw. Minimalnego Zestawu Danych (MSD - Minimum Set of Data), a także prowadzenie rozmowy między osobami poszkodowanymi, znajdującymi się w pojeździe, który uległ wypadkowi, a dyspozytorem w centrum ratunkowym. Przedstawiony opis sposobu transmisji opiera się na dokumentach standaryzacyjnych stowarzyszenia 3GPP. Dzięki standaryzacji każdy pojazd wyposażony w urządzenie pokładowe eCall będzie mógł nawiązać połączenie z centrum powiadamiania ratunkowego na terenie całej Europy.

This article presents key information about the so-called in-band modem technique, which is a solution for data transmission in the GSM voice channel. This technology was developed by the USA-based company Qualcomm purely for the purpose of the eCall system. It substantially simplifies the Minimum Set of Data (MSD) transmission process and at the same time it supports a verbal communication between the people injured in the accident and the dispatcher in a rescue center. The in-band modem technical description provided in this article is mostly based on the relevant standardization documents created by the 3GPP. Thanks to the standardization, each and every vehicle equipped with an on-board eCall device will be able to connect with the emergency center throughout Europe.

Zwiększenie bezpieczeństwa transportu – głównie drogowego – jest jednym z istotnych priorytetów wśród strategicznych działań Komisji Europejskiej. Istotnym środkiem osiągnięcia wyznaczonych w tym zakresie celów ma być realizacja projektu ogólnoeuropejskiego samochodowego systemu wzywania pomocy eCall. W artykule przedstawiono charakterystykę ogólną tego systemu, z intencją kontynuacji tematyki w następnej części artykułu.

One of the main priorities of European Commission is to increase safety of transport, road transport in particular. Important means to achieve the set in this respect aims, is the implementation of European assistance project /eCall/. This article presents the general characteristics of the system, whereas, the next part of the article shall continue the initiated topic.
