Praca zawiera analizę zmian wartości środków trwałych, która to wartość stanowi miarę nakładu kapitału wykorzystywanego w procesach produkcyjnych w górnictwie. Kształtowanie się tego czynnika w kolejnych latach porównywano z jego poziomem w gospodarce całego kraju oraz w przemyśle. Analiza porównawcza obejmowała także kształtowanie się wskaźnika kapitałochłonności w wymienionych przekrojach gospodarczych. Poziom zaangażowanego kapitału zależy od wielkości inwestycji. Dynamikę inwestowania w całej sekcji górnictwa i kopalnictwa oraz w górnictwie węgla kamiennego i brunatnego porównywano z całą gospodarką kraju. Efektywność wykorzystania w procesie produkcyjnym czynników nakładu pracy i kapitału określono aproksymując parametry strukturalne funkcji produkcji, wykorzystując dane źródłowe obejmujące wydzielone szeregi czasowe.

This paper presents the analysis of changes in the value of fixed assets which is the measure of capital expenditure used in production processes in the mining industry. In the consecutive years, this factor was compared with its value in the national economy and the industry. The comparative analysis also included the index of capital intensity in the mentioned economic structures. The level of the capital employed depends on the size of investment. The dynamics of total investments in the coal mining sector was compared with the national economy as a whole. Effectiveness of the work amount and capital factors use in the production process was estimated by approximating the structural parameters of the production function on the basis of source data which contain separate time series.

W artykule przedstawiono wybrane problemy związane z upowszechnieniem technologii paliw kopalnych w bliskiej i dalszej perspektywie czasu. Wskazano na główne przyczyny zmniejszenia dynamiki wprowadzania nowych technologii, skutkujące opóźnieniami inwestycyjnymi zarówno w UE jak i w Polsce. Szerzej przedstawiono potencjał aplikacyjny dla technologii węglowych i gazowych. Zwrócono uwagę, że dalszy rozwój bloku kondensacyjnego jest uwarunkowany wzrostem jego efektywności termodynamicznej i ekonomicznej oraz poprawą elastyczności cieplnej i charakterystyk przy zmiennym obciążeniu. W przypadku technologii gazowych barierą prognozowanego ich upowszechnienia w UE i w skali globu może okazać się duża niestabilnooeć cen gazu.

Analysis of technical and economic parameters of a classic condensing coal power plant and other coal technologies (for example integrated gasification combined cycles) indicates that they are and they will be important for the energy security of many countries, particularly for Poland. Additional in Poland new investment are justified by the age of working installations, and the resulting necessity for the withdrawal of units with low environmental and economic standards. There are many reasons for which reduce the dynamics of the introduction of new technologies, leading to the difference between the best available technologies and technologies which are in use. Introduction of natural gas technology to the Polish electricity generation sector is a necessity. Autonomous systems can serve an important regulatory role. Gas and steam cycles with high flexibility next to reduce carbon dioxide emissions may also fulfill regulatory functions. Gas turbines can also provide the basis for the construction of accumulation installations. The main barrier may be instability in the gaseous fuel market, related with increased interest in this class of technology in many parts of the globe. Reasonable speed up of the transformation of the energy system requires a continuous expansion of knowledge in society. Only in this way the emergence of hostility toward one class technology and overestimate the role of others can be avoided. It is a task not only for the entire education system but also politicians and economic activists.
