The paper is devoted to results recent investigations on the dynamics and stability of continuous systems under moving load. The problem is connected with the development of modern technology of explosive bonding of layer materials or tracked high-speed transportation systems. Simple but reliable models of continuous systems presented in the paper are used to study various dynamical effects which influence comfort, durability of structures and damage of the environment. Particular attention is paid to the dynamics of beams on an elastic foundation, periodically supported beams. The acting loads are taken as moving, concentrated or continuously distributed, constant or oscillating in time.
