W artykule scharakteryzowano strategie dynamicznego sterowania i zarządzania ruchem w systemach transportowych. Następnie przedstawiono wybrane strategie dynamicznego zarządzania ruchem (ATM – Active Traffic Management), których celem jest przede wszystkim zarządzanie i sterowanie potokami ruchu w warunkach kongestii i zakłóceń płynności ruchu, na podstawie monitorowania oraz predykcji warunków ruchu drogowego.

Strategies of Active Transportation and Demand Management (ATDM) have been characterized and then selected strategies of Active Traffic Management (ATM) have been presented in article. Active Traffic Management (ATM) is the ability to dynamically manage recurrent and non-recurrent congestion based on prevailing and predicted traffic conditions.

The presented paper describes the latest results of a research project focused on the development and application of intelligent system for dynamic traffic management on highway in work zones. The presented system is a result of a research project funded by the Technology Agency of the Czech Republic and will be deployed in a pilot verification during the started reconstruction of D1 highway in the Czech Republic in the upcoming months. The system should help to increase the throughput of the reconstructed highway work zones and reduce the negative effects of the reconstruction work itself.
