In this paper we introduce the Pell and Pell-Lucas hybrid numbers as special kinds of hybrid numbers. We describe some properties of Pell hybrid numbers and Pell-Lucas hybrid numbers among other we give the Binet formula, the character and the generating function for these numbers.

The paper deals with application of dual number algebra to calculating the steady state failure freguency of repairable multi-state monotone systems, yielding in singlestage computation procedure, as opposed to usual two-stage one. In particular, a combination of dual number algebra and UGF method is presented. Applicability of this new method is illustrated by simple example.

Rozpatrywane jest zastosowanie algebry liczb dualnych do obliczania stacjonarnej częstości uszkodzeń naprawialnych monotonicznych systemów wielostanowych, prowadzące do jednoetapowej procedury obliczeniowej, a odróżnieniu zwykłej procedury dwuetapowej. W szczególności, przedstawiono połączenie metody algebry liczb dualnych z metodą UGF. Stosowalność tej nowej metody zilustrowano prostym przykładem.
