This paper presents the design of jet-swirl atomizers with swirling grooves and results of drop size spectrum measurements with particular interest in the modal (most often) drop size diameter. Further discussion concentrates on the relationships between droplets size, pressure drop, position in the spray cone angle, and geometric factor that comprises the parameters describing the whole atomizer (a body and an insert) – K'g .
