W artykule przedstawiono procesy logistyczne w motoryzacji na przykładzie firmy Toyota Motor Corporation. Badania obejmowały II etap w cyklu życia samochodów – etap produkcji. Opisano system produkcji Toyoty, zasady jego funkcjonowania oraz główne aspekty logistyki zidentyfikowane w tym systemie. Kolejne badania dotyczyć będą procesów eksploatacji i wycofania samochodów z eksploatacji zweryfikowanych także w oparciu o firmę Toyota Motor Corporation.

The article presents the logistic processes in motorization on the example of Toyota Motor Corporation. The research has covered the second stage in life cycle of cars – production. A production system of the Toyota, principles of his functioning and main aspects of the logistics identified in this system were described. Further research will include processes of exploitation and cars’ withdrawal from exploitation also verified by basing on the Toyota Motor Corporation.

Lean Management is a philosophy and management concept, based on reduction of the waste and resources used in the process of producing goods and providing services. Lean Management genesis dates back to scientific management in America (for example concepts of H. Ford and F.W. Taylor) and quality management, including development of TQM concept. Japanese Toyota Production System has been inspired by chosen elements of these concepts, and then it evolved towards global concept called Toyota Way (which connects production rules with values and work attitude). TPS is considered to be a major precursor of lean manufacturing and now more widely – Lean Management. LM is a broader set of organisational and management tools, formed mainly by the Japanese culture, but also subjected to the Western influences in the field of organisation and management (Jakonis 2011, Parkes 2014).

Lean Management to filozofia i koncepcja zarządzania, która opiera się na redukcji marnotrawstwa i zasobów używanych w procesie wytwarzania wyrobów i świadczenia usług. Geneza Lean Management sięga początków naukowego zarządzania w Ameryce (np. koncepcji H. Forda i F.W. Taylora) oraz zarządzania przez jakość, w tym rozwoju koncepcji TQM. Ich wybrane elementy posłużyły jako inspiracje dla japońskiego Systemu Produkcyjnego Toyoty, który z czasem ewoluował w stronę globalnej koncepcji Toyota Way (łączącej zasady organizacji produkcji z propagowanymi wartościami i podejściem do pracy). TPS uważany jest za głównego prekursora lean manufacturing a obecnie szerzej - Lean Management. LM jest pojemniejszym zbiorem narzędzi organizowania i zarządzania, ukształtowanym głównie przez japońską kulturę, ale i poddanym zachodnim wpływom z zakresu organizacji i zarządzania (por.: Jakonis 2011, Parkes 2014).

Connection of two value streams: production and human resources were proposed as a new approach to the production process. To assess the factors of production value streams the elements of the top of the Toyota's house as well as fourth and sixth Toyota's managing principles were used. On the basis of the feedback from respondents –the foundry workers, there can be determined the validity of series of decisive factors' importance that equalizes the work load and requires the standardization.
