The social legislation is a current and political issue in the field of road freight transport. Working conditions for drivers in the EU (including Switzerland, Norway, Liechtenstein, and Iceland) are governed by Regulation (EC) No 561/2006. Regulation (EC) No 561/2006 - known as the Driving Time Regulation - lays down rules on driving times, breaks and rest periods for drivers of lorries and buses to improve working conditions and road safety. A number of new amendments to this regulation were adopted on 15 July 2020. The aim of this paper is to present the most important changes adopted compared to the previous version of the Regulation. The paper deals with the adopted changes in the following areas: weekly rest periods, secure parking areas, vehicles which are transported by ferry or train and exceeding driving time which may jeopardize road safety. The main purpose of this paper is to summarize and inform researchers, practitioners and all interested parties about the adopted changes in the Regulation, as well as the transport companies responsible for planning and scheduling the working time of drivers and also for preventing unpleasant experiences resulting from possible compliance with the conditions of the Regulation. The adopted changes in Regulation are also illustrated in the figures and table to better understand the differences.

Według niektórych medialnych doniesień czas kryzysu gospodarczego w Polsce mija. Gospodarka prężnie się rozwija, Produkt Krajowy Brutto wzrasta, bezrobocie maleje, a inflacja nie szybuje wysoko ku górze. Statystycznie – jest dobrze, ale jak powiedział niegdyś pisarz Mark Twain: „są trzy rodzaje kłamstw – kłamstwa, bezczelne kłamstwa i statystyki”. Może się zatem okazać, że nie wszystkim będzie żyło się lepiej i dostatniej. Niektórzy będą musieli mocno oszczędzać i zaciskając pasa przetrwać „do pierwszego”. Co jednak zrobić, gdy taki zabieg nie wystarczy?

Jednym z czynników gwarantujących bezpieczeństwo przewozu ładunków i ludzi jest przestrzeganie maksymalnych okresów (czasów) prowadzenia pojazdów przez kierowców oraz minimalnych okresów odpoczynku i przerw w czasie jazdy. Artykuł poświęcony jest przepisom prawnym dotyczącym ewidencji czasu pracy kierowców, a także specjalistycznemu oprogramowaniu służącemu do automatycznego odczytu czasu jazdy, odpoczynku, przerw i dyżurów z tachografów analogowych i cyfrowych.

One of the factors to ensure the safety of transport of goods and people is respect the maximum periods (days) driving by drivers and minimum rest periods and breaks while driving. Article is devoted to laws relating to drivers' hours records, as well as serving specialized software for automatic reading of drive times, rest breaks from analogue and digital tachographs.

The article deals with bus traffic time and speed on stage and route in the whole. The factors affecting bus driving parameters are divided into groups. The factors of significant impact are found in each group. The method of consideration of such factors impact on driving parameters in timetable making, is proposed. The extent of impact of selected factors on bus driving time and speed is studied.
