The environmental state of rice irrigation systems (RIS) is determined by many factors, including natural ones (soil, topographical, hydrogeological, and climatic factors) and technological ones (irrigation norm, design, and parameters of irrigation and drainage networks, etc). The most significant influence on the ecological reclamation state of the RIS carries is effected by its drainage network (DN). The need to maintain a flushing water regime with specific filtration rates to prevent secondary salinization in the Danube Delta’s rice systems is a crucial aspect of managing these agricultural areas. In the saline areas of rice systems located in the Danube Delta, the DN must ensure the maintenance of the flushing water regime with the rates of filtration ranging between 10 to 12 mm/day. This is a prerequisite for preventing secondary salinization of irrigated lands of these rice systems. According to the results of studies, the filtration from the surface of the irrigation checks of the Danube Delta RIS has been established, and its values in the area of the rice check vary significantly. Different intensity of filtration in the area of rice checks causes the difference in mineralization of groundwater and in the content of salts in the soil. This leads to the fact that the same rice check created various natural reclamation conditions and different productivity of cultivated crops.

An important role in the transport of sludge play rain water runoff from urbanized and industrial areas, mainly from the sealed surface. One of the elements of the drainage network arming are rainy street drains that play an important role in the sewer system in reducing the amount of sludge discharged. The composition of sediments retained in the rainy street drains is dependent on many factors. The basic effect has development of the catchment area from which rain wastewater is discharged.

PL
W pracy przedstawiono wyniki analizy obserwacji pluwiograficznych z lat 1985-1986 na terenie miasta Zielona Góra. Wybrane opady o znacznym natężeniu chwilowym zostały wykorzystane do analizy odpływu ze zlewni modelowej. Rezultaty porównano z wynikami uzyskanymi metodami klasycznymi.

Results of raingauge-based rainfalls data analysis for period 1985-1986 in Zielona Góra were presented. Rainfall with the biggest intensity were chosen to obtain runoff flows at the outlet. Results were compared with data obtained using classic methods.

This paper discusses the relationship between geological structure and drainage network orientation at both a meso-scale and local scale. The Loucka Basin, located at the SE margin of the Bohemian Massif (S Moravia, Czech Rep.), has been selected as the model region for these studies. In the Loucka Basin, the bedrock comprises the metamorphic rocks of the Moldanubicum Group, which are arranged in elongated bands and lenses and are fractured with the dense network of faults. There is no extensive cover of unconsolidated younger sediments in the basin, nor any deep weathering regolith. In these respects, the geological setting is extremely favourable for the quantification of structural features and their correlation with drainage orientation. The degree of correspondence between the direction of drainage network segments and the orientation of such structural features as faults, mylonite zones, thrust-fronts and rock lineations was investigated in five study areas. The third-order streams are those most influenced by structure. The higher the order of stream segment, the weaker the correlation, and the more important the overall inclination of the terrain as a controlling factor in stream flow orientation. However, there is a strong structural control of first order streams in the periphery of the Basin. The structural control of streamflow direction in the Loucka Basin, which is built up with Precambrian metamorphic rocks, varies between 30-50% of the rectified channel length; the upper limit is considered to be the maximum conditioned by a local very high density of various linear structural elements.
