Decrease of groundwater table level or decrease of buoyancy effects of groundwater is one of the most important landslide remediation measures. In Slovakia as well as in the world the horizontal drainage boreholes are often used for the landslide remediation. The article describes 40 years’ experience with use of the horizontal drainage boreholes in Slovakia, particularly in terms of their effectiveness and long-term functionality.

Influence of distance of exploitational front from drainage boreholes on their efficiency with use the U ventilation system

The U ventilation system is nowadays one of the most applied method of exploitational hollows' ventilation. Demethanation form is in the essential way related to applied systems of exploitation and ventilation. Classic demethanation form connected with the U ventilation system is demethanation with the use of the drainage boreholes executed from the ventilating headings. The paper presents conditions of demethanation and influence of distance of exploitational front from bunch of drainage boreholes on their efficiency and on concentration of methane in captured methane-air mixture in reference to parameters of the drainage boreholes (i.e. their length, quadrant elevation and angle of deflection).

Jednym z najczęściej stosowanych obecnie sposobów przewietrzania wyrobisk eksploatacyjnych jest system przewietrzania na "U". Sposób odmetanowania w istotny sposób uzależniony jest od zastosowanego systemu eksploatacji i przewietrzania. Klasycznym sposobem odmetanowania przy systemie przewietrzania na "U" jest odmetanowanie za pomocą otworów drenażowych wykonywanych z chodnika wentylacyjnego. W artykule omówiono uwarunkowania w prowadzeniu odmetanowania, przedstawiono wpływ odległości frontu eksploatacyjnego od wiązki otworów drenażowych na ich wydajność oraz na stężenie metanu w ujmowanej mieszaninie metanowo-powietrznej w odniesieniu do parametrów otworów tj. ich długości, kąta podniesienia oraz odchylenia.
