Podłogi przemysłowe należą do najbardziej narażonych na uszkodzenia elementów budownictwa przemysłowego. Właściwe i bezawaryjne ich użytkowanie zależy, w dużej mierze, od wybranego systemu dylatacji. Stosowanie szczelin dylatacyjnych ma na celu przeciwdziałanie pękaniu płyty spowodowanemu skurczem betonu i siłami termicznymi. Wymiary płyty dobiera się tak, aby siły powstające w nawierzchni pod wpływem oddziaływań nie przekraczały wytrzymałości na rozciąganie betonu lub żelbetu.

Industrial floors are one of the elements of industrial construction most susceptible to damage. The ability to use such floors properly and without malfunctions depends to a large extent on the selected system of expansion joints. These are used to prevent the cracking of slabs as a result of concrete shrinkage and thermal forces. Slab dimensions are chosen so that the forces produced in the surface as a result of action on the floor do not exceed the tensile strength of the concrete or reinforced concrete.

The study contains the results of research that has recently been carried mainly in the field of numerical analysis. The considerations and conclusions determine some new aspects concerning the behaviour of timber dowel type joints under low cyclic loading. The factors influencing the joint rigidity, such as timber rhcology, friction and various geometrical parameters were also taken into account.
