The paper presents a research project that evaluates a technological precision accuracy of CNC lathes and turning centres in the scope of machining utilizing complex motions analysis (interpolated and synchronized). There are presented examples of machining that use complex technological motions to shape machining surfaces with an analysis of accuracy influence on performed motions and accuracy of the machining. There are described possibilities of various uses of lathe building modules and possibilities of shaping machined surfaces. There are also presented lathes designs that perform aforementioned machining types.
