The article describes a workflow system implementation project in a production company. A modern enterprise must operate efficiently and effectively. Efficiency defines activities aimed at obtaining the best possible results with minimum investment. The introduction of a new solution in the area of document management allowed to increase efficiency by reducing the workload on creating documents. The concept of workflow was defined and the situation in the company was described. Based on the analyzes, a new solution in the area of document management was proposed by implementing the workflow system. Maps of new document management processes were developed. The effect of introducing the workflow system is primarily the automation of creating all types of documents and full control over the flow of documents.

Scharakteryzowano szczegółowo systemy EDI, wypunktowano ich wady oraz zalety jak i przedstawiono warianty możliwych usprawnień.

The article presents methods of improving information flows using the EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) system, which are used in enterprises from the steel industry. EDI systems are characterized in detail, their advantages and disadvantages are listed, as well as options for possible improvements.

W artykule opisano rozwiązanie polegające na połączeniu dwóch systemów – jeden obsługuje obieg dokumentów wszelkiego typu, które mogą powstać w trakcie procesu inwestycyjnego, drugi zaś poszerza te możliwości o narzędzia technologii BIM. Powstały w ten sposób system BIM Files Connect można zaliczyć do rozwiązań klasy CDE. Rozwiązanie jest dostępne w Polsce w języku polskim, jak również w wielu innych językach. Podano kilka przykładów wdrożeń elementów systemu w kraju i na świecie.

The article describes a solution that consists in combining two systems – one supports the circulation of documents of all types that may arise during the investment process, while the other extends these capabilities with BIM technology tools. The resulting BIM Files Connect system can be classified as a CDE-class solution. The solution is available in Polish as well as in many other languages. There are several examples of system elements implementation in Poland and worldwide.

Paper media in business are progressively replaced by electronic, and the time of receiving information is reduced. With the use of certain information and communication tools and technologies information in electronic form becomes available to all the interested parties almost instantly. In particular, due to this there occurs a need for effective management of information in electronic form (electronic information flows) in the company. This can be done within e-logistics (e-logistics), which is a subsystem of information logistics. This article investigates the term “e-logistics” and shows that at the moment there is no gene-rally accepted definition. It is proposed to distinguish the following main constituents in the term “e-logistics”: “Internet”, “Delivery”, “Information and communication tools and techno-logies”. In this paper, the author shows the layout of different definitions in the triangle of the concept of “e-logistics” regarding its main components. The article proposes the approach to the evaluation of the company’s e-logistics development, which can be used in different enterprises of different areas. It is offered to evaluate the level of the company’s e-logistics with the corresponding complex indicator, which in itself accumulates information on the level of implementation of information and communication tools and technologies in the logistics system of the company. The proposed complex indicator allows the company management to receive a single number which reflects the level of development of e-logistics in the company and takes into account the number of aspects of its functioning.

Opisano główne funkcje prototypowego systemu komputerowego wspomagającego zarządzanie ofertami, przeznaczonego dla firm wytwarzających narzędzia specjalne. Aplikacja stanowi centralne repozytorium ofert oraz zgromadzonych wokół nich dokumentów i danych. Przedstawiono, w jaki sposób można zarządzać pracami przedsiębiorstw produkcyjnych w sposób procesowy, z zastosowaniem modułu typu workflow, na przykładzie działu narzędzi specjalnych.

Described are the main functions of a prototype of the computer system designed to support the tender management procedure as dedicated for the companies producing special tools. The developed IT application provides for central repository for the tenders and collection of the relevant documents and data. Presented is the way how operation of the production companies can be managed in a process oriented manner using the workflow module of the IT system by example of performance of the special tools department.

Described are the main functions of the prototype computer system dedicated for the companies manufacturing special tools to aid the tenders management system. Central memory register of the tender quotations has been developed to collect all data and documents in electronic form which are associated with the tenders. The functions for automatic operation of the workflows using workflow templates have been developed.

Implementation of the system which supports the processes in public administration with the use of the electronic Platform of Public Administration Services (ePUAP), creates new opportunities for the development of many new concepts in the Information Society. The ePUAP system is a platform which clearly supports the communication processes using e-documents, mainly in the scope of office-citizen communication. The paper shows the possibilities of vast functionality extension of the ePUAP platform by implementing the system services dedicated to the user, enhancing the private document management and the correspondence with the public institutions with the use of ePUAP platform. The concept of the functionality of the Dok system is extended with an aspect of the prototype system implementation, crucial for the usage of many modern technological solutions.

The paper is aimed at presenting of several approaches to automatic synthesis of structured 2D drawings. We view the subject from different standpoints: document configuration, knowledge representation and document management. Our case study is in the domain of configuration of electroplating lines. As a result of the configuration process, a set of technical drawings is produced. We present an approach (and a software system) SyntheCAD to the preparation of technical drawings for generating layouts automatically rather than building interactively. We treat SyntheCAD as a combination of two tasks: configuration (as in artificial inteligence) and document preparation. The method combines basic concepts of (1) the component oriented approach to configuration, and (2) generic coding introduced in document preparation.
