This article describes a concept of a scale model of finished goods flow between the production zone and the distribution zone. This model may be applied in modem production plants which execute mass production of consumption goods (so calied goods in high demand) in industries such as: food processing, pharmaceuticals, chemicals and cosmetics, all of them having highly automated production zone as well as automated, independent high storage warehouses. By adjusting the model to specific conditions existing in the plant in question one should reach a solution, which assures cheap and efficient flow of finished goods between the production zone and the storage zone. The article characterises basic features of production systems bearing effects on the model presented and requirements to the system set by the distribution zone. It also defines conditions to be met in order to apply the model presented. In conclusion, the article shows the outcomes of applying the model in chosen plants of considered industries.
