The article presents the concept of using fuzzy sets methodology in modelling patientʼs disease states for preliminary medical diagnosis. The preliminary medical diagnosis is based on the identified disease symptoms. The basis of the algorithm are descriptions of the patientʼs disease status and patterns of disease entities. These patterns were defined as fuzzy sets. The paper presents simple classifiers that allow he a preliminary diagnosis based on the analysis of fuzzy sets for the use of the general practitioner.

The paper presents a general procedure model for the identification of diagnostic medical patterns based on multicriteria assessment of similarity. A general similarity detection area was defined, in which a pattern recognition optimization problem was formulated. An exemplary algorithm supporting the process of determining the initial medical diagnosis based on the identified disease symptoms and risk factors is presented. The presented algorithm allows for determining a set of diseases from which there is none more probable, and their ranking.
W pracy przedstawiono możliwość zastosowania mechanizmów wnioskowania diagnostycznego wykorzystujących modele pajęczynowe zdefiniowane w wielokryterialnej przestrzeni danych medycznych pacjenta. Istotą rozpatrywanego problemu jest wyznaczenie wstępnej diagnozy medycznej w oparciu o stwierdzone symptomy chorobowe, czynniki ryzyka bądź otrzymane w wyniku dodatkowych badań parametry medyczne.

This article demonstrates opportunities of using so-called cobweb modelling method in the process of early medical diagnosis. The paper shows how to create n-dimension cobweb model of patient health or disease pattern. This model is based on symptoms of disease, risk factors and medical data. The article contains a description of a method to analyze the probability of the occurrence of some diseases. As a result, cobweb modelling can be used for creating a medical decision support system.
Sparse data representation is discussed in a context of useful fundamentals led to semantic content description and extraction of information. Disease patterns as semantic information extracted from medical images were underlined because of discussed application of computer-aided diagnosis. Compressive sensing rules were adjusted to the requirements of diagnostic pattern recognition. Proposed methodology of sparse disease patterns considers accuracy of sparse representation to estimate target content for detailed analysis. Semantics of sparse representation were modeled by morphological content analysis. Subtle or hidden components were extracted and displayed to increase information completeness. Usefulness of sparsity was verified for computer-aided diagnosis of stroke based on brain CT scans. Implemented method was based on selective and sparse representation of subtle hypodensity to improve diagnosis. Visual expression of disease signatures was fixed to radiologist requirements, domain knowledge and experimental analysis issues. Diagnosis assistance suitability was proven by experimental subjective rating and automatic recognition.
