Development of computer science facilitates design of machines such as shredders. In this paper, the authors present it with an example of analysis of loads in a milling assembly. The analysis of multi-disc shredder is performed by means of advanced software such as TEST-4-TPTS and PSI-GAD-III. In experimental research, the authors performed a program of quasi-shearing of plastic pipe specimens made of primary and recycled polymer in order to determine strains and loads in actual shredder. Continuous machine milling of recycled plastic materials was also examined. This allowed the authors to determine efficiency, power requirements, comminution quality (degree of disintegration) and the specific energy consumption per unit in multi-disc shredders.
