W artykule przeanalizowano i porównano funkcje wybranych aplikacji mobilnych wykorzystywanych do ukrywania dodatkowych wiadomości na materiale cyfrowym, takim jak: tekst, obraz lub dźwięk. Opisane aplikacje są dostępne w sklepach z aplikacjami mobilnymi dla dwóch wybranych systemów operacyjnych: iOS (Apple) i Android (Google). Aplikacje zostały przetestowane i ocenione pod kątem ich przydatności do celów ochrony treści o charakterze poufnym.

In the article the functions of the selected mobile applications used for hiding additional messages on digital carriers such as text, image or sound were analysed and compared. The applications referred to above are available in mobile application shops for two selected operational systems: iOS (Apple) and Android (Google). The applications have been tested and evaluated in the context of their usefulness for the purposes of protecting contents of confidential nature.

In the paper, a proposal of a new specialization mining geomatics on the Faculty of Mining Surveying and Environmental Engineering at the AGH University of Science and Technology is presented. Increasing number of investments in GI solutions in the mining industry in Poland provides a good observation base of the needs of the professional staff in this field. Selected problems in implementing GIS systems in KGHM Polska Mied. S.A and KHW SA were identified and characterized. Based on these examples new education requirements were identified. They are grouped in 3 new themes covering jointly about 20 subjects. The fundamental obstacle on the part of industry to introduce new specializations is the conservative mentality of the management in the Polish mining industry. Another problem poses shortage of educational staff at the university with new skills in professional teaching. Finally, introduction of education in the field of mining geomatics was proposed.

In the paper the project .Information System for Archive Cartographic Collections Referring to Mining in Poland. is presented. The objective of the project is to develop a catalogue and introduce a uniform system for mining maps in Poland. The concept of the MICARIS (Mine Cartography Information System) system is described. It is based on GeoNetwork software and is classified as a Catalogue System for Geographic Metadata which meets the requirements of ISO 19100 standards. Finally, transfer of large amount of metadata to the system is presented.

In this paper, the eContentPlus program created on the iniutiative of the European Commission is characterized. The objective of the program is to promote building of digital data resources to be available in Internet. The main items of this program are described and its milestones are discussed. An important feature of the program is the fact that it also covers geographical information projects. Since 2005-2006 in total 6 such projects were initiated. One of them is the eSDI-Net+ project with the participation of AGH University of Science and Technology in Cracow. The title of this project is: European Network on Geographic Information Enrichment and Reuse. The objective of eSDI-Net+ project is to create a thematic network for crossborder dialogue between key SDI players and target users and to establish an Internet platform for exchange of best practices between different partners involved in the creation and use of SDIs. The network will promote information exchange and allow to create integrated guidelines, standards, and implementation of best practices.
