A new idea for low-level comparison of color images is presented and tested experimentally. The developed method allows to compare two color images of the same size and color range. A modified chess-board metric was used as a measure of local dissimilarity between the pixels of compared images followed by the calculating of global dissimilarity value. Providing the dissimilarity value is lower than a some value, we can say that two digital images are similar and present the same scene.
