Extraction of scores and average from Algerian high-school degree transcripts

A system for extracting scores and the average from Algerian high school degree transcripts is proposed. The system extracts the scores and average based on the localization of tables gathering this information; it consists of several stages. After preprocessing, the system locates the tables using ruling-line information as well as other text information. Therefore, the adopted localization approach can work even in the absence of certain ruling lines or the erasure and discontinuity of the lines. After this, the localized tables are segmented into columns and the columns into information cells. Finally, cell labeling is done based on prior knowledge of the table structure, allowing us to identify the scores and the average. Experiments have been conducted on a local dataset in order to evaluate the performances of our system and compare it to three public systems at three levels; the obtained results show the effectiveness of our system.

Długoterminowe zachowanie użyteczności zasobów przechowywanych w archiwum cyfrowym jest uwarunkowane między innymi możliwością wyszukania informacji, weryfikacji jej autentyczności oraz jej poprawnej interpretacji, tak w sensie technicznym (format danych itd.), jak semantycznym (zrozumienie informacji w odpowiednim kontekście itp.). To zaś zapewnić można jedynie dzięki odpowiedniemu przetwarzaniu i przechowywaniu metadanych opisujących zarchiwizowane zasoby. Artykuł opisuje przetwarzanie i przechowywanie metadanych w cyfrowym archiwum długoterminowym CREDO.

Long term archiving of digital resources depends, among others, on an ability of searching information, verifying its authenticity and its proper interpretation, in technical (data format, etc.), as well as semantic (understanding the information in proper context, etc.) sense. This can be achieved only by appropriate processing and storage of metadata, which describe archived resources. The paper presents processing and storage of metadata in CREDO long-term digital archive.

Publikacja stanowi analizą przydatności obrazów rejestrowanych kamerami typu APS ( Advanced Photo System ) dla celów opracowań fotogrametrycznych z nalotów niskopułapowych. Ze wzglądu na ich niewielką masą oraz rozmiary przy równocześnie stosunkowo wysokiej rozdzielczości i dogodnej cyfrowej archiwizacji danych mogą one znaleźć zastosowanie na małych bezpilotowych platformach lotniczych, realizujących niskopułapowe loty fotogrametryczne o charakterze lokalnym. Stanowią grupę przejściową pomiędzy kamerami analogowymi i cyfrowymi.
