The work presents principles of operation of a heat pipe, types of heat pipes and heat pipe characteristics. Examples of heat pipe applications to cooling of electrical and electronic equipment have been given. The conception of a dielectric heat pipe (DHP) has been presented. Such a pipe can transfer heat from evaporator to condenser under high voltage. The dielectric heat pipe has been constructed and tested under high voltage. The characteristics of DHP performance have been presented.
