W artykule omówiono metody i korzyści zastosowania diagnostyki przekładni zębatych. Podkreślono znaczenie badań niezawodnościowych dla problemu analizy kosztów użytkowania maszyn. Zaproponowano model ekonomiczny remontów okresowych przekładni jako punkt odniesienia do wyznaczania oszczędności ze stosowania diagnostyki. Przedstawiono górne oszacowanie oszczędności dla danych hipotetycznych i przedstawiono metodę optymalizacji okresów międzyremontowych i międzydiagnostycznych dla podanych modeli.

The paper has shortly described the diagnostic methods developed and used by Machinery Systems Division from the Institute of Mining Engineering at Wroclaw University of Technology for checking the state of belt conveyor gears in Polish mines. The necessity and importance of reliability analysis has been stressed for operating cost calculations. The standard economical model of optimal, periodical repairs in certain age has been proposed as the basis for the calculation of savings from diagnostic application. Examples of several, different, hypothetical ratio of gear price to average cost of repair, both preventive as well as corrective, has been analysed and appropriate cost functions drawn on the chart showing the influence of these parameters on the level of cost and optimal time to repair. The upper estimate of savings has been presented for hypothetical data based on the model of perfect diagnoses in constant periods. The model allows on determining optimal diagnostic periods for different parameters including the average cost of preventive repair of gears and the cost of single diagnosis.
