The article presents an analysis of the selected, considered key, technologies development affecting the military area. The authors of the analysis started from the assumption that nowadays, it is the commercial technology that should determine the development of technology used for military purposes. This is due to the fact that the biggest driver of technology development is the market game - that is, competition. The greatest market potential lies in the diversity and scale that characterizes the civilian market. Only from the set of solutions used commercially can policy-makers and military decision-makers choose the right ones for military applications. The analysis presented here drew heavily on examples of this phenomenon which can be seen in the ongoing war in Ukraine. The set of emerging tendencies is defined in 4 trends - dispersion, sharing, convergence and miniaturization. They provide timeless guidelines for the way of thinking in the light of exponentially occurring changes in the field of technology. Such a change in commanders’ thinking should be the challenge of the RMA (Revolution of Military Affairs) implementation process. This means new challenges for commander education where knowledge of tactics becomes as important as understanding the capabilities of network technologies.

The article presents the primary indicators illustrating the current situation and developmental trends in the production of welding equipment and materials in Russia in 2010-2013. The study also contains the analysis of tendencies taking place on the welding technique market (import–export) in the Russian Federation.

Przedstawiono główne wskaźniki obrazujące stan obecny i kierunki rozwoju produkcji urządzeń i materiałów spawalniczych w Rosji w latach 2010 – 2013. Dokonano także analizy tendencji występujących na rynku techniki spawalniczej (import – eksport) zachodzących w Federacji Rosyjskiej.

The development trends observed in bridge engineering are specified and discussed. The growth in the bridge spans, the use of non-conventional structural materials and the new architectural forms of bridge structures are presented in particular and exemplified. Improvement in bridge durability as well as the economic and social problems concerning the bridges are also characterized. The generals world's trends are compared with those observed in Poland during the last years. Moreover, some other more particular development trends such as progress in construction of modern wooden bridges, the use of free prestressing tendons, constructions of extradosed and ribbon concrete bridges as well as the applications of the dumpers and fairing devices to control the bridge behaviour, are briefly discussed too.

W pracy przedstawione zostały subiektywne oceny Autora dotyczące współczesnych tendencji rozwojowych w budowie i eksploatacji maszyn. Uwagi te dotyczą w głównej mierze tendencji integracyjnych w zakresie stosowanych narzędzi badawczych, jak i tendencji integracyjnych w obszarze tradycyjnie uprawianych dyscyplin, takich jak diagnostyka, tribologia czy bezpieczeństwo i niezawodność. Rozwój zintegrowanych systemów komputerowych CAD/CAM/CAE, a także koncepcji szeroko rozumianego projektowania współbieżnego i mechatroniki wymusza inne spojrzenie na kwestię budowy i eksploatacji maszyn. W tym kontekście rośnie rola eksploatacji maszyn jako wyraz pielęgnacji wyrobu od momentu jego zaprojektowania i wykonania aż do chwili całkowitego wyłączenia z eksploatacji.

The work subjective author's assessments regarding contemporary development tendencies in machine construction and exploitation are presented. These remarks refer primarily to integration tendencies in the area of applied research tools as well as to integration tendencies in the area of traditionally exercised disciplines such as diagnostics, tribology or safety and reliability. The development of integrated computer systems CAD/CAM/CAE, as well as of the concept of widely approved concurrent design and mechatronics requires another glance at the issue of machine construction and exploitation. In such context there grows an increasing role of machine exploitation as an expression of the product care from the design stage, its manufacturing until its complete decommissioning.
