Development of architectural and construction detail plays an essential role in the management of the underground facility. Analysis of the spatial structure, specific characteristics of the material and individual formal traits - contained in the historic structure - is the background to create a unique, interesting underground space. Contemporary design solutions - as described in the article - are conversion steps during the existing spatial structure. Synergy of newly designed elements and maintenance of the status quo and historical objects determines the designing and implementation of adaptation of an underground facility lor the needs of a tourist route. Architectural and construction details bring out the masterpieces of many years engineering arts of a human being.

Przeszedł całkowicie do historii porządkując jej okresy stylistyczne lub zyskał inne znaczenie stawiające mu odmienne zadania funkcjonalne.

At one time it was significant and necessary, but today it has lost its importance and function. It has become part of history introducing order into stylistic periods, or else it has acquired another meaning which has imposed on it different functional tasks.
