This paper presents the results of experimental densification and shaping of dry ice in the piston’s technique. This applies to the material in particulate form, obtained by a crystallization process of carbon dioxide, which is characterized by low temperatures and the tendency to sublimate. Tests were performed to determine the effects of geometrical parameters of the agglomerating unit elements, and in particular the matrix, the value of the required densification force. This force is the basis for the formulation of effective design principles which are the starting point for the construction of machines for densification and granulation of dry ice.

W artykule przedstawiono wyniki badań zagęszczania i kształtowania suchego lodu techniką tłokową. Badaniu poddano materiał w postaci rozdrobnionej, otrzymany w wyniku krystalizacji ciekłego dwutlenku węgla. Miały one na celu określenie cech geometrycznych elementów roboczych maszyny. Podczas badań skupiono się na określeniu naprężeń zagęszczających, niezbędnych do aglomeracji dwutlenku węgla. Wyznaczona wartość naprężenia granicznego posłuży do sformułowania założeń projektowych.
