W obiektach gruntowo-powłokowych, niezależnie od geometrii przekroju poprzecznego, np. o kształcie łukowym czy eliptycznym, projektuje się górny wycinek powłok o stałym promieniu krzywizny R. W wyniku ciężaru własnego blachy, parcia gruntu i obciążeń ruchomych kształt tej części podlega deformacjom z widocznym odstępstwem od projektowanego wycinka koła. Zmianę promienia krzywizny pasma obwodowego powłoki określa się w pracy na podstawie współrzędnych trzech punktów pomiarowych, tworzących trójkąt wpisany w okrąg.

In the design process of soil-steel structures, regardless of the cross-sectional geometry, e.g. in the shape of an arc or elliptical designs, the upper section of the shell with a constant radius of curvature R is designed. As a result of the steel structure's own weight, earth pressure from backfilling and live load above the structure, the shape of the upper section deforms with a visible deviation from the circle shape. The change in the radius of the circumferential curvature of the steel shell is determined in this paper on the basis of the coordinates of three measuring points, forming a triangle inscribed in a circle. Any (asymmetric) position of the measuring points, defined by geodetic techniques, is taken into account. The paper analyzes the deformation indicators of the shell made of corrugated steel sheets, during the construction or operation of structures. The change of the curvature in the crown of the shell is assumed as a basic deformation measurement and limit values are defined.
