W artykule scharakteryzowano proces płaszczenia drutów okrągłych na taśmy prostokątne Omówiono podstawowe zasady płynięcia metalu w walcarce duo i o złożeniu czterowalcowym. Dokonano oceny kształtu i wymiarów pasm otrzymanych w badaniach eksperymentalnych i modelowaniu procesu płaszczenia taśm prostokątnych. Przeprowadzono numeryczną analizę wpływu gniotu na rozkład intensywności odkształcenia podczas płaszczenia drutu w walcarce duo oraz podczas płaszczenia w złożeniu czterowalcowym pasma o stałej grubości z zaokrąglonymi brzegami i o przekroju prostokątnym.

The process of flattening of round wires into rectangular strips. The basic rules of metal flow in two-high and four-high rolling mills are discussed. Evaluation of the shape and dimensions of bands obtained in experimental tests and in the modelling of the process of flattening of rectangular strips has been made. A numerical analysis has been carried out to examine the influence of draft on the deformation intensity distribution during flattening of a wire in a two-high rolling mill and during flattening of a band of constant thickness with rounded edges and a band with a rectangular cross-section in a four-high mill stand.

An ArcView-based map of glaciotectonic phenomena in Denmark has facilitated correlation of glaciotectonic features with particular ice advances and enabled creation of an event-stratigraphic map. Well log data was used to map the intensity of glaciotectonic deformation on a large scale. The highest intensities of glaciotectonic deformation is seen in the regions underlain by pre-Quaternary marine clays and chalk or interglacial marine clays.
