Some 90 Roman stucco fragments, coming from the Archaeological Park of Herculaneum, underwent in the conservation-restoration process within the Istituto Superiore per la Conservazione ed il Restauro (ISCR) laboratories in Matera. Before the conservation activity, the wide number of this manufacts brought us to design a data management system, suitable for stucco findings. Nowadays, the international approaches towards data management of this kind of artifacts is extremely heterogeneous and the absence of an unequivocal data sheet makes the cataloguing very complex and laborious. Our studies on the fragments allowed us to draw up a specific cataloguing instrument for this kind of material, carried out with a software structuring data collection in order to respond to different necessities, such as completeness and updatability, required by an efficient data management system.

W pracy przedstawiono schemat systemu bazy danych służącego do przechowywania i efektywnego wyszukiwania danych mających wpływ na klimat akustyczny w obszarze drogi. Baza agreguje dane pochodzące z pomiarów poziomu dźwięku oraz zestawia je z czynnikami mogącymi mieć potencjalny wpływ na powstawanie i propagację dźwięku. Do czynników takich zaliczyć można parametry meteorologiczne, natężenie ruchu, czy strukturę rodzajową pojazdów tworzących strumień ruchu. Ze względu na wymóg przechowywania danych pochodzących z różnych metod i urządzeń badawczych konieczne było ujednolicenie ich formatów oraz uogólnienie definicji struktur danych w sposób maksymalnie ułatwiający dostęp do poszczególnych danych. System bazy danych posiadający zdolność gromadzenia i zestawiania danych zgodnie z aktualnymi potrzebami umożliwia przeprowadzanie istotnych, z punktu widzenia użytkownika, operacji i zaawansowaną analizę obszernych danych. Posłuży on w przyszłości do pracy nad sformułowaniem semi-empirycznego modelu oddziaływania akustycznego strumienia ruchu drogowego. Zgromadzone w bazie dane mogą z kolei posłużyć do weryfikacji modelu symulacyjnego.

The paper presents a schema of the database system used to store and efficient retrieve data influencing the acoustic climate of the road area. The database aggregates data from the sound level measurements and compile it with factors that have a potential impact on formation and propagation of the sound. These are factors as meteorological parameters, traffic flow or the generic structure of vehicles in a traffic stream. Due to the requirement of storing data from various methods and research facilities it was necessary to standardize their formats, and to generalize the definition of data structures in a way that facilitates access to each data. Database system that has the capacity to collect and compile the data in accordance to current needs allows you to make important, from the user point of view, operations and advanced analysis of extensive data. It will be used in the future to work on a semi-empirical model of traffic flow acoustic impact. The collected data can also be used to verify the simulation model.

The Geological Survey of Austria is going to published information on the natural mass movements through a web-application available to everybody. This application is based on a GIS-based map with point-information on the locality of different types of mass movements (scale 1:500,000), and a GIS-connected database with object-related information. Furthermore, the web-application contains options explaining its usage, general information on the map and mass movement. It is hoped that this web-application will be a helpful and useful meta-tool for everyone to obtain primary information and an overview of the well-known mass movements in Austria.

Służba Geologiczna Austrii zamierza publikować informacje o naturalnych ruchach masowych poprzez dostępny dla wszystkich system internetowy. Zastosowany system oparto na mapie z GISowską informacją punktową o miejscowościach, w których występują różnego rodzaju ruchy masowe (skala 1:500 000) oraz na bazie informacji o poszczególnych obiektach, opracowanych w systemie GIS. Ponadto, system internetowy zawiera opcje wyjaśniające zasady korzystania oraz ogólną informację o mapie i o ruchach masowych. Należy mieć nadzieję, że ta aplikacja internetowa będzie pomocna dla wszystkich pragnących uzyskać informację o ruchach masowych w Austrii.

GEORIOS is one of the key programs of the Geological Survey of Austria, carried out by the Department of Engineering Geology. In accordance with the National Law of Research of the year 2000, all available data and information on mass movements in Austria are collected and maintained. These data are undergoing reprocessing and then displayed via GIS as cartographic features. The relevant extended information is also stored in the GIS-connected relational databases. The available features and data are undergoing a primary evaluation in order to provide geohazards susceptibility maps at a scale of 1:50,000.

GEORIOS jest jednym z głównych programów Służby Geologicznej Austrii, realizowanym przez Departament Geologii Inżynierskiej. Zgodnie z zaleceniami Narodowego Prawa Nauki z 2000 roku są zbierane i przechowywane wszystkie informacje dotyczące ruchów masowych w Austrii. Dane te są opracowywane i udostępniane w formacie GIS. Wszystkie dane uzupełniające są również przechowywane w relacyjnych bazach danych, połączonych z systemem GIS. Dane te są wykorzystywane do konstrukcji map podatności terenu na zagrożenia naturalne, w skali 1:50 000.
