The paper presents an analysis of transmission of vibration from an impact tool to the operator. The multiplicity of excess of the vibration acceptable level on the handle was 7.78, and the maximum permissible working time did not exceed 3.7 min, which required the use of a vibration isolation system. A damper structure was worked out with the use of the mathematical model of the tool under analysis. Results of the measurement of vibration before and after the vibration isolation was presented as a spectral analysis. The experimental verification has shown substantial effectiveness of the proposed vibration isolator structure that reduced the multiplicity of excess of the vibration acceptable level to the value of 0.87, and an extension of the maximum permissible working time up to 627 min. The gain was a reduction in the transmission of vibration to the operator's hand-arm system without lowering of the effectivess of the soil compacting process.
