Indexing in the ERIH + database confirmed the high quality of the published scientific articles and allowed to increase the reach. However, further development of the quarterly will only be possible as a result of the implementation of the developed ten-point strategy.

„Polish Technical Review” jest czasopismem wydawanym według obecnie obowiązujących standardów „Otwartej Nauki”. Jego zaindeksowanie w bazie ERIH+ potwierdziło wysoką jakość publikowanych artykułów naukowych oraz pozwoliło na zwiększenie zasięgów. Jednak dalszy rozwój kwartalnika będzie możliwy tylko w wyniku wdrożenia opracowanej, dziesięciopunktowej strategii.

W artykule zrelacjonowano historię powstania i działania czasopisma pod obecną nazwą „Polish Journal for Sustainable Development”. Podkreślono jego znaczenie w upowszechnianiu koncepcji zrównoważonego rozwoju. Dwadzieścia lat wydawania czasopisma naukowego jest okresem na tyle długim, że możliwe są już pewne podsumowania i refleksje. Informacje zawarte w artykule obejmują okres ponad 20 lat wydawania czasopisma w latach 1997-2018. Celem opracowania było nie tylko pokazanie trudu i sukcesu wszystkich autorów, redakcji, rady naukowej i wydawnictwa ale także wykorzystanie okazji do pozostawienia w pamięci kolejnych czytelników pojęcia zrównoważony rozwój, czyli koncepcji nadal dającej szanse na budowanie dobrostanu Homo sapiens w rzeczywistości XXI wieku.

The article presents the history of the creation and operation of the journal under the current name of the Polish Journal for Sustainable Development. The dissemination of the concept of sustainable development was emphasized. Twenty years of publishing a scientific journal is a period long enough that some summaries and reflections are possible. The information contained in the article covers the period of over 20 years of publishing the magazine in the years 1997-2018. The aim of the study was not only to show the effort and success of all authors, editorial staff, scientific board and publishing house, but also to use the opportunity to keep the readers in mind the concept of sustainable development, a concept that still gives hope for building the welfare of Homo sapiens in the 21st century.

The interaction of the two kind activities of the Faculty of Transport of the Silesian University of Technology, namely the international conference and scientific journal, which have the same name "Transport Problems", is considered. It is proved that such interaction is very useful for transport scientists of different countries and serves a platform for information exchange and discussion of the most pressing problems of the transport industry. Changes that have occurred in this activity lately are being discussed.

Urban parks are one of the oldest and continuously developed elements of urban green spaces’ systems. Their types, functions and significance are characterized by a variability over time. However, parks continue to attract the interest of both city dwellers and those, who deal with the designing and maintenance of parks professionally. Research conducted by scientists should help identify contemporary needs of park users, as well as provide answers to questions concerning the further development of parks, including the desirable transformations. One of the turning points in the perception of the role of parks in cities has been the evolution of the concept of green infrastructure, which has emerged - among others - in the discourse of landscape architects in the beginning of the 21st century. Thus, certain new issues emerged with respect to the development of urban green spaces - mainly, delivering ecosystem services and adapting to climate change. The purpose of this paper is to identify the subject and scope of research undertaken considering the role, significance and problems of development of urban parks in Poland. The research included a review of both academic and popular science articles which concern the broadly understood development of urban parks. The research was based on the content of the Ceon Science Database (http://bibliotekanauki.ceon.pl), including AGRO, BazTech, BazEkon, CEJSH, DML-PL and PSJD. The conducted research has allowed us to determine whether, and to what extent, the current topics of reflection on urban parks are convergent for researchers and practitioners. Basing on the conducted research the authors concluded that: - case study descriptions of parksare predominant among the analysed issues; these descriptions are mainly informative, as their purpose is to familiarize readers with the studied park, or more problem-centered, as the description also relates to more general issues, and the park is described as an example or a point of reference; - other numerous and very diversified issues, are subjects of single articles, or are repeated in a small number of papers, which makes it difficult to trace any tendency in the studied problematics.

Parki miejskie stanowią jeden z najstarszych i ciągle rozwijanych elementów systemu terenów zieleni w miastach. Ich typy, funkcje i znaczenie charakteryzuje zmienność w czasie. Niezmiennie pozostaje jednak zainteresowanie parkami zarówno ze strony mieszkańców miast, jak i osób profesjonalnie zajmujących się projektowaniem i utrzymaniem parków. Badania prowadzone przez naukowców powinny wspomagać identyfikację współczesnych potrzeb, zgłaszanych przez użytkowników parków, jak i odpowiadać na pytania dotyczące ich dalszego rozwoju, w tym pożądanych przekształceń. Celem artykułu jest identyfikacja tematyki i zakresu badań, podejmowanych w związku z kondycją i znaczeniem parków w ostatnim dwudziestoleciu. Badaniami objęto zarówno naukowe oraz popularnonaukowe, których tematyka dotyczyła szeroko rozumianego kształtowania parków miejskich. Badania oparto na zawartości Bazy Nauki Ceon (http://bibliotekanauki.ceon.pl), obejmującej m.in. bazy AGRO, BazTech, BazEkon, CEJSH, DML-PL oraz PSJD. Na podstawie przeprowadzonych badań stwierdzono, że: - wśród podejmowanych zagadnień dominują „opisy parków”; mają one charakter informacyjny, czyli charakteryzują konkretny park lub parki, albo problemowy, czyli przedstawiają ogólniejsze zagadnienie, w którym opisywany park stanowi punkt odniesienia lub przykład; - pozostałe zagadnienia, liczne i różnorodne, stanowią przedmiot niewielkich grup artykułów albo wręcz artykułów pojedynczych; trudno zatem mówić tu o jakichkolwiek tendencjach w problematyce.

W artykule przedstawiono zmiany, jakie przeszło czasopismo Szybkobieżne Pojazdy Gąsienicowe (SPG) w ciągu 25 lat istnienia na polskim rynku. Pokazano rolę w upowszechnianiu wyników prac naukowych i badawczo-rozwojowych z obszaru obronności oraz krąg najważniejszych odbiorców - czytelników czasopisma. Określono charakter wydawanego przez OBRUM sp. z o.o. czasopisma SPG w aspekcie obowiązujących definicji. Omówiono kryteria, jakie winno spełniać czasopismo naukowe w procesie oceny przeprowadzanej przez Ministerstwo Nauki i Szkolnictwa Wyższego. W artykule nakreślono kierunki zmian organizacyjnych mających na celu podniesienie oceny czasopisma i ugruntowanie jego pozycji jako recenzowanego czasopisma naukowego.

The article presents changes that the Szybkobieżne Pojazdy Gąsienicowe (SPG) magazine had undergone during the 25 years of its existence in the Polish market. Its role in the spreading of the results of scientific studies and of research and development work in the area of defence systems is shown along with the principal recipients/readers of the journal. The characteristics of the SPG magazine published by OBRUM are described in the aspect of applicable definitions. The criteria that a scientific magazine should meet in the process of evaluation by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education are discussed. The article outlines the trends in organizational changes aimed at improving the appreciation of the magazine and at strengthening its position as a peer-reviewed scientific journal.
