The article presents research results on the effect of cooling and lubrication on the cutting force in cutting off process of A11and C45 steel rods using different rake face shapes and cutting parameters. The aim of the investigation was to determine outcomes of elimination (dry cutting) or reduction (minimum quantity lubrication – MQL) of a cooling and lubricating fluid in the cutting off process. It has been concluded that the minimum quantity lubrication allowed decreasing the cutting force compared to dry cutting. The impact of eliminating or reducing the quantity of the cooling and lubricating medium on the cutting force in the cutting off process of both types of steel depend on the applied feed rate and cutting speed. Taking into account environmental reasons, the dry and MQL cutting off is advisable and highly justifiable.

W pracy zawarto analizę wpływu prędkości obrotowej i liniowej wysuwającego się brykietu na działanie opracowanego mechanizmu jego przecinania. Aby brykiet tworzony metodą zwijania z niepociętych roślin można było prawidłowo podzielić trzeba pamiętać, że wychodząc z komory wykonuje on ruch śrubowy. W celu uniknięcia rozwijania się brykietu w czasie jego przecinania narzędziem tnącym o ruchu obrotowym kierunek obrotu brykietu obu elementów powinien być zgodny, a ich prędkości liniowe podobne.

The study presents analysis of influence of rotation and linear velocity of an outgoing briquette on performance of its developed cutting mechanism. In order to divide briquette correctly, which was previously formed by the rolling method out of uncut plants, one shall remember that the briquette performs a screw motion while getting out of a chamber. In order to avoid briquette unrolling during cutting by a rotary cutting-knife, the rotary direction of both elements should be consistent and their linear velocities similar.

Celem pracy było porównanie metody oddzielania ziarna kukurydzy cukrowej metodą odcinania i omłotu na podstawie ilości i jakości pozyskanego surowca. W celu umożliwienia omłotu kolby kukurydzy cukrowej mrożono w strumieniu par ciekłego azotu. Przeprowadzone badania na 12 odmianach kukurydzy wykazały, że metoda omłotu w stosunku do metody odcinania wpływa na zwieszenie stopnia oddzielenia ziarna o ok. 26% i udziału ziarna dobrego o ok. 12% oraz na zmniejszenie ziarna gorszej jakości o ok. 40%.

The purpose of the work was to compare sugar corn grain separation process carried out using the cut off and threshing methods on the basis of obtained material amount and quality. Sugar corn cobs were put to freezing in nitrogen vapour stream in order to allow their threshing. Tests completed for 12 corn varieties proved that compared to cut off method, the threshing method increases grain separation degree by ca. 26% and fine grain portion by ca. 12%, and reduces lower quality grain portion by ca. 40%.

W artykule przedstawione są wyniki badań rozmieszczenia ości w karpiach, amurach i tołpygach, możliwości i sił wyrywania ości z filetów tych ryb. Stwierdzono, że rozmieszczenie ości jest podobne, a ilość taka sama. Badania sił wykazały, że siły zrywania ości są mniejsze od sił wiążących je z tkanką mięśniową. Z tego względu, oraz mając na uwadze, że w Polsce tuszki karpiowatych stanowią coraz szerszą handlową postać, skonstruowano przedstawiony w artykule prototyp maszyny do przecinania w nich ości na odcinki o długościach nie większych niż 4-4,5 mm, nie stwarzających zagrożenia zdrowiu konsumenta. W czerwcu 2003 roku zaprezentowano go na Międzynarodowych Targach Rybackich „Polfish 2003” w Gdańsku.

The paper presents the examination results of the arrangement of fish bones in carps, amures and silver carps, the possibilities and forces necessary to remove the bones from fillets of this fish. It was found out that the arrangement of fish bones is similar and their number is the same. The examination of forces revealed that the forces breaking the fish bones are weaker than the forces bonding them with muscular tissues. Respecting the above and the fact that carcasses of carp fish bones are distributed on the market more widely, a machine prototype for cutting off the fish bones into segments not posing the health hazard, i.e. not longer than 4-4.5 mm,. It was presented in June 2003 on the International Fishing Fair „Polfis 2003” in Gdansk.

W artykule przedstawiono analizę mechanizmu rozwarstwiania niszczącego strukturę kompozytów. Rozszczepienie warstw obniża nośność i trwałość części. Wykonano dyskusję możliwości rozwarstwienia kompozytowych układów z włókna. Na podstawie modelu Timoszenki oraz liniowej teorii stateczności uzyskano analityczne rozwiązanie określające składowe energetyczne.

Delamination is one of the most frequently occurring kinds of damage to the composite structure. It is a surface crack between the layers of the composite that leads to separation of layers and influences the carrying capacity and durability of a structural element. In this paper the author discusses the impact of the transverse shear strains on the possibility of development of delamination, using the axially compressed fiber-composite with a multi-layered system of reinforcing meshes. Within the Timoshenko model and the linearized theory of stability, the author obtained an analytical solution to the components of the energy release rate G\ and Gn. Numerous parameter analyses have been carried out.
