Content available remote An electronic controllable biquadratic filter based on single MO-CCCCTA

This article presents a multi-input single-output (MISO) electronically controllable current-mode universal biquadratic filter. The proposed circuit is a simple construction consisting of a single multiple-output current-controlled current conveyor transconductance amplifier (MO-CCCCTA), one resistor, and two grounded capacitors, which is well suited for integrated circuit fabrication. The highlight of the circuit is the response of five functions, including high-pass (HP), band-pass (BP), low-pass (LP), band-reject (BR), and all-pass (AP), which can be configured by correctly selecting input signals. In addition, the pole frequency can be independently adjusted from the quality factor by a bias current. Moreover, it is also convenient to be connected in current-mode due to its high-impedance output. The results of the simulation with the Pspice program to test the performance of the proposed universal filter circuit using an internal structure of MO-CCCCTA, BJT construction, were consistent with the theory as expected.

W artykule przedstawiono wielowejściowy jednowyjściowy (MISO) elektronicznie sterowany uniwersalny dwukwadratowy filtr w trybie prądowym. Proponowany obwód jest prostą konstrukcją składającą się z pojedynczego, wielowyjściowego, sterowanego prądowo wzmacniacza transkonduktancyjnego (MO-CCCCTA), jednego rezystora i dwóch uziemionych kondensatorów, co doskonale nadaje się do wytwarzania układów scalonych. Najważniejszym punktem obwodu jest odpowiedź pięciu funkcji, w tym górnoprzepustowy (HP), pasmowoprzepustowy (BP), dolnoprzepustowy (LP), pasmowy odrzucający (BR) i wszechprzepustowy (AP), które można skonfigurować poprzez prawidłowy wybór sygnałów wejściowych. Ponadto częstotliwość biegunów może być niezależnie regulowana od współczynnika jakości za pomocą prądu polaryzacji. Co więcej, można go również wygodnie podłączyć w trybie prądowym ze względu na wyjście o wysokiej impedancji. Wyniki symulacji za pomocą programu Pspice do testowania wydajności proponowanego obwodu filtra uniwersalnego z wykorzystaniem wewnętrznej struktury MO-CCCCTA, konstrukcja BJT, były zgodne z oczekiwaną teorią.

Content available remote Four-phase quadrature oscillator using DO-CCCFTA

This article introduces novel current-mode quadrature oscillator circuit based on DO-CCCFTA and three grounded passive components. The oscillator circuit can be generated by four-phase sinusoidal current signal. The oscillation condition can be non-interactively controlled from oscillation frequency. Furthermore, its high impedance of outputs can directly connect in current-mode circuit and use only grounded passive components that are very suitable to be furthered fabricated into integrated circuit. The PSPICE simulations and experimental method were implemented for theoretically analysing the proposed oscillator.

This article presents a four-phase current-mode quadrature oscillator based on dual current follower transconductance amplifier (DOCFTA). It uses single DO-CFTA and two grounded capacitors without additional external resistors. In addition, the condition and frequency of oscillation can be adjusted by electronic method by adjusting the bias currents of the DO-CFTA. It has high output impedance appropriate for cascade connection in current mode technique. Moreover, the oscillator uses only grounded capacitors, it is considerably appropriate for further developing into an integrated circuit. The results of PSPICE simulation program are corresponding to the theoretical analysis.

The current-mode single-input multi-output, multi-input single-output biquad filter and quadrature oscillator for the same configuration has been studied in this paper. It is configured with two BiCMOS CCCTAs and two grounded capacitors. The performing of proposed configuration can function as the single-input multi-output and multi-input single-output filter. It serves to be all standard functions; lowpass, highpass, bandpass, bandreject and allpass response. The pole frequency and the quality factor can be electronically/independently tuned with the DC bias currents of the BiCMOS CCCTAs. Furthermore, the proposed configuration can be operates in the quadrature oscillator. It has been featured as the condition of oscillation and the frequency of oscillation are freely adjusted with the DC bias currents of the BiCMOS CCCTAs. The performances for proposed configuration is simulated with PSPICE program that accordance to the theoretical analysis.

This paper presents three current-mode multi-input single-output filters based on the current controlled current differencing transconductance amplifier (CCCDTA). They can be set to serve as standard filter functions. The pole frequency and quality factor parameters are such that filters can be electronically controlled and independently tuned via input bias current of the CCCDTAs. All output filters have highimpedances in current-mode configuration. Their performances were simulated by using PSPICE which resulted in a correlation with the theoretical prediction.

Content available remote Second order current-mode quadrature oscillators using OTAs

This article presents new current-mode quadrature oscillator circuits using OTA which are designed from block diagram. The proposed circuits consist of three OTAs and two grounded capacitors. The circuits have high output impedance appropriate for cascade connection application in current mode technique which is capable to directly drive load. The oscillators use only grounded capacitor which is very appropriate for further development into an integrated circuit. In addition, the condition of oscillation can be adjusted orthogonally from the frequency of oscillation. The results of PSPICE simulation program are corresponding to the theoretical analysis.

This paper presents the design of a current-mode quadrature sinusoidal oscillator. It can generate two current-mode sinusoidal outputs with 90 degree phase difference called as quadrature signal. The proposed sinusoidal oscillator employs single differential voltage current conveyer transconductance amplifier (DVCCTA), two grounded capacitors and three resistors. The tuning of frequency of oscillation (FO) and condition of oscillation (CO) can be done independently. Also the frequency of oscillation can be electronically tuned which is suitable for modern control system using microcontroller or microprocessor. The impedance at output node is high impedance which can directly drive an external load or connect to another circuit without the use of current buffers. A number of simulation results based on PSPICE program using 0.25 μm TSMC CMOS parameters are included to exhibit performance, workability and effectiveness of the proposed sinusoidal oscillator.

The protection of information that reside in smart devices like IoT nodes is becoming one of the main concern in modern design. The possibility to mount a non-invasive attack with no expensive equipment, such as a Power Analysis Attack (PAA), remarks the needs of countermeasures that aims to thwart attacks exploiting power consumption. In addition to that, designers have to deal with demanding requirements, since those smart devices require stringent area and energy constraints. In this work, a novel analog-level approach to counteract PAA is presented, taking benefits of the current-mode approach. The kernel of this approach is that the information leakage exploited in a PAA is leaked through current absorption of a cryptographic device. Thanks to an on-chip measuring of the current absorbed by the cryptographic logic, it is possible to generate an error signal. Throughout a current-mode feedback mechanism, the data-dependent component of the overall consumption can be compensated, making the energy requirement constant at any cycle and thwarting the possibility to recover sensible information. Two possible implementations of the proposed approach are presented in this work and their effectiveness has been evaluated using a 40nm CMOS design library. The proposed approach is able to increase the Measurements to Disclosure (MTD) of at least three orders of magnitude, comparing to the unprotected implementation. It has to be pointed out that the on-chip current-mode suppressor, based on the proposed approach, is able to provide a very good security performance, while requiring a very small overhead in terms of silicon area (xl.007) and power consumption (xl.07).

In this study, a current-mode first order allpass filter using current follower transconductance amplifiers (CFTAs) is proposed. The features of the circuit are that: the pole frequency, phase response and current gain can be electronically controlled via the input bias current: the circuit description is very simple, consisting of 2 CFTAs, 1 resistor and 1 grounded capacitor, without any component matching requirements. Consequently, the proposed circuit is very appropriate to further develop into an integrated circuit. Low input and high output impedances of the proposed configuration enable the circuit to be cascaded in current-mode without additional current buffers. The PSpice simulation results are depicted. The given results agree well with the theoretical anticipation.

Do właściwości układu należy możliwość kontroli częstotliwości biegunowej, odpowiedzi fazowej i wzmocnienia prądowego przy pomocy wejściowego prądu stałego. Obwód składa się z dwóch układów CFTA, rezystora i uziemionego kondensatora. Przedstawione wyniki symulacyjne z programu PSpice potwierdzają skuteczność działania układu.

This article presents a current-mode first order filter and application in quadrature oscillator circuit based on all-pass filter. The filter circuit using only single CCTA and single grounded capacitor. It is able to provide low-pass, high-pass and all-pass function. Morover, the proposed oscillator can provide two sinusoidal output currents with 90 degrees phase difference. The filter and oscillator circuits use only grounded capacitors without any external resistor and have high output impedance appropriate for cascade connection application in current mode which is capable to directly drive load. This qualification is very appropriate for further development into an integrated circuit. The results of PSPICE simulation program are corresponding to the theoretical analysis.

An implementation of current-mode multiphase sinusoidal oscillators is presented. Using CCCCTA-based lossy integrators, odd and odd/even phase systems can be realised with following advantages. The condition of oscillation and frequency of oscillation can be electronically/orthogonally tuned. The high output impedances facilitate easy driving an external load without additional current buffers. The proposed MSOs provide odd or even phase signals that are equally spaced in phase and equal amplitude. The circuit requires one CCCCTA and one grounded capacitor per phase without external resistor and additional current amplifier. The effects of the non-idealities of the CCCCTA-lossy integrator sections were also studied. The results of PSPICE simulations using BJT CCCCTA are included to verify theory.

All types of second order transfer functions are available. Theoretical assumptions are supported by simulation results in PSpice and by laboratory measurements.
