Budynki ryglowe były charakterystycznym elementem krajobrazu małych miast Pomorza Zachodniego. Zmniejszenie ich zasobów wynikało ze zniszczeń wojennych, pożarów i mniejszej trwałości. Transformacja ustrojowa w Polsce sprawiła, że zabytki stały się przedmiotem obrotu, a ich położenie zostało uzależnione od praw rynku. Szansą na ich przetrwanie jest zmiana przepisów prawnych, system grantów, ulg podatkowych i utworzenie niewielkich skansenów in situ.

Timber framing buildings were features of landscape of small towns in Western Pomerania. Declining number in their resources was the result of postwar devastation and fire which shortened period of their solidity. The political transformation in Poland made, monuments became the subject of trading and their position is dependent on market law. Changes in system of law, grants and tax relieves, besides creating small open-air museums in situ, can increase their chance to survive.

In the context of creating the little homeland, revitalization of the country area has became an important element. In this paper an attempt at carrying out revitalization process for rural areas was made. As an example Wysoka village has been presented as a rural area, which meets assumed guidelines of revitalization.
