Crushing Schemes in the Processes of Crushing and Cutting of Brittle Materials

This paper is about laboratory tests of crushing schemes of brittle materials. Tests were carried out in two stages. First stage involved tests of uniaxial compression of limestone using different types of punches. Second stage involved cutting limestone (same as used in first stage) using cutting tools of different shape. Tested cutting tools had shapes based on tools commonly used in milling machines designed for road construction. In conclusion elementary processes of crushing and cutting were compared in relation to observed similarities in crushing schemes.
