The X-C:H (X = Ti, W or Si) coatings deposition by pulsed reactive magnetron sputtering was carried out at varying flow rates of acetylene. Results of investigations of the structure and high microhardness (19-23 GPa) of coatings, where the X component content varied from 30 to 40 at. %, revealed their nanocomposite structure. If the X-component concentration is 1—8 at. %, the films will show the lowest friction coefficient (f< 0,05 for Ti-C:H and Si-C:H, f< 0,1 for W-C:H) and high wear resistance.
