This course is developed to implement state policy on ensuring the accessibility of infrastructure and services for persons with disabilities and other people with reduced mobility. Diversity of specializations in the field of geology entails various needs related to education of geologists in the area of geoinformation. Therefore, three different programmes of education related to these problems are proposed for the university studies of geology. The basic course should include elementary knowledge about geoinformation and be designed for such specializations as paleontology or mineralogy. The second broader course including practical skills in application of the geoinformation systems is designed for majority of geological specializations. The course covering full range of subjects is necessary for the specializations where geoinformation is created, as for example hydrogeology, engineering geology, environment protection and geological cartography. In this case, lectures and classes in the area of geoinformation (obligatory and optional) should make up at least 15% of the time dedicated to the studies programme.
