Influence of increased availability of various categories of spare parts in the market on the cost of servicing passenger cars in Poland

This article raises the issues related to the influence of increased availability of various categories of spare parts in the market on the cost of servicing passenger cars in Poland. The discussion is based on original simulations of the hypothetic cost of repairs involving several categories of spare parts. For the analysis, the authors selected models of vehicles that were demanded the most in Poland in recent years in the segment of brand new and second-hand cars. The purpose of this work is to show the differences in values arising in the case of using separate categories of spare parts in the class of repairs concerned. The presented research may be used to estimate the possible cost of use related to owning a specific model of a vehicle. Furthermore, the research results may be helpful in making purchase decisions by the individual as well as group clients.

W artykule podjęto próbę analizy udziału kosztów robocizny w całkowitych kosztach naprawy na przykładzie wyselekcjonowanego segmentu rynkowego. W celu ukazania wzajemnych zależności rozważania uzupełniono o autorskie symulacje hipotetycznych kosztów napraw. Zamierzeniem artykułu jest wykazanie, iż pomimo wzrostu dostępności rynkowej do różnych kategorii części zamiennych na polskim rynku naprawczym udział robocizny w całkowitych kosztach naprawy samochodów osobowych jest wciąż wymowny.

The article attempts to analyze the share of labor costs in total costs of repair on the example of selected market segments of passenger cars in Poland. In order to demonstrate the interdependence considerations supplemented by copyright simulations of hypothetical cost of repairs. The intention of this article is to demonstrate that, despite the increase in availability of various alternative spare parts to repair the Polish market share of labor in total cost of repair of cars in Poland is still meaningful.

Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie opłacalności napraw powypadkowych pojazdów samochodowych. Porównano koszty naprawy z użyciem części oryginalnych, zamienników oraz części używanych. Stwierdzono, iż w przypadku uszkodzeń w których zachodzi konieczność wymiany poduszek powietrznych naprawa jest najczęściej nieopłacalna, nawet w przypadku stosunkowo nowych pojazdów. Koszt naprawy z wykorzystaniem zamienników najczęściej nie odbiega w znaczący sposób od kosztów naprawy z wykorzystaniem części używanych.

This article aims to show the profitability of accident repair of motor vehicles. We compared the cost of repairs using original spare parts, alternatives and used parts. It was found that in case of damage where there is a need to replace the airbags repair is most often unprofitable, even in the case of relatively new vehicles. The cost of repair with the use of alternatives usually do not differ significantly from thecost of repair with the use of used parts.

W artykule podjęto próbę zasygnalizowania problematyki dotyczącej wpływu porozumień wertykalnych w sektorze pojazdów samochodowych spod zakazu porozumień ograniczających konkurencję na koszty napraw samochodów osobowych w Polsce. Rozważania uzupełniono o autorskie symulacje kosztów napraw, obejmujące zastosowanie poszczególnych kategorii części zamiennych w procesach naprawy samochodów osobowych w Polsce. Zamierzeniem artykułu jest zwrócenie uwagi na istotę podjętej problematyki badawczej oraz zasygnalizowanie pożądanych perspektywicznych kierunków zmian w procesach szacowania kosztów napraw samochodów osobowych w Polsce uwzględniających wymogi unijnych i polskich regulacji prawnych.

This article attempts to indicate the issues of the impact of vertical agreements in the motor vehicle sector from the prohibition of agreements restricting competition on the cost of repairs passenger cars in Poland. Considerations supplemented by copyright simulations repair costs, including the use of different categories of spare parts in the processes of repair of cars in Poland. The intention of this article is to draw attention to the essence undertaken research issues and to signal the desired perspective directions of changes in the processes of estimating the cost of repairs passenger cars in Poland taking into account the requirements of EU and Polish regulations.
