W artykule przedstawiono problem intensyfikującego wpływu procesu koagulacji na korozyjne właściwości wody, na przykładzie przeprowadzonych badań nad stabilnością chemiczną wody powierzchniowej po koagulacji wzrastającymi dawkami siarczanu glinu. Omówiono wyniki przeprowadzonych badań, metody zastosowane do oceny stabilności chemicznej analizowanej wody przy wykorzystaniu różnych indeksów stabilności oraz porównanie ich wskazań.

The article presents the problem of the intensifying influence of the coagulation process on the corrosive properties of water, based on the example of conducted research on the chemical stability of surface water after coagulation with increasing doses of aluminum sulphate. The results of research, methods used to assess the chemical stability of the analyzed water with the use of various stability indices and the comparison of their indications are discussed.

The crude distillation unit is the most critical elements in the refining process. Moreover, most of the equipment in the distillation unit are made of general carbon steels. Data analysis models, machine learning techniques can predict corrosion degradation rates. We used Pearson’s correlation coefficient and multiple linear regression, to predict the impact of process parameters. Altogether, we have analysed 84 channels of technological parameters, and 22 different types of crude oils. Among the corrosion agents, the chloride content strongly affected the weight loss of coupons, where the highest coefficient was 0.68. The most influential parameter is found to be the pH value. Thus, an estimation method of the pH value is set up to predict the corrosion degradation rate. The regression correlation for estimating the pH value is 0.53 if the corrosion agents are not used, which can be improved to 0.76 if the corrosion agents are also used in the regression analysis.

W artykule przedstawiono problematykę występowania rozbieżności wskazań indeksów, określających skłonności wody do wykazywania właściwości korozyjnych, bądź do wytrącania osadu węglanu wapnia, wyznaczonych na podstawie wyników przeprowadzonych badań wody powierzchniowej. Publikacja zawiera omówienie wyników badań nad stabilnością chemiczną surowej wody z rzeki, opis metod zastosowanych do wyznaczenia indeksów stabilności wody i zasad interpretacji wartości obliczonych wskaźników, a także porównanie ich wskazania.

The problem of discrepancy in the indications of indices determining the scale forming or corrosive tendencies of water were presented, based on the results of conducted research of surface water. The article presents the results of research on the chemical stability of raw river water and contains description of methods used to determine various water stability indices, as well as, interpretations of their calculated values and comparison of their indications.

W artykule opisano również praktyczne przykłady zastosowania wybranych wskaźników stabilności wody do oceny jej właściwości korozyjnych.

The problems of evaluating the scale forming or corrosive tendencies of water were presented based on the analysis of various water stability indices, taking into account their calculation methods, ways of interpretation, as well as their known limitations. The article also describes practical examples of using selected water stability indices to evaluate corrosive tendencies of water.
