The use of virtual reality for the establishment of compliance is a potential game-changer in enabling real-time remote inspections/ surveys of vessels. When provided with high-speed internet access, robots or remote-controlled inspection vehicles such as drones, crawlers, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), and so on, may be equipped with remote inspection technologies (RITs), and smart optical cameras and sensor suites in conjunction with wearable technologies, and smart/ mobile devices, to carry out an aerial and underwater virtual assessment of the coating condition of the steel structural members of the vessel while transmitting the data in real-time or near real-time, via collaborative software. To ease the travel restrictions and border closures prompted by the Coronavirus (COVID-19), these novel technologies have been introduced by some flag states and classification as alternatives to traditional in-person statutory inspections/ class surveys. This study aims to employ a systematic literature review (SLR) approach to (1) classify the profiles of existing publications related to remote inspections/ surveys, (2) highlight the key thematic areas being discussed within the domain of remote inspections/ surveys and identify tasks and processes that may require virtual reality application. To the best of our knowledge, the findings have revealed that there is no existing SLR paper related to the application of remote inspection techniques in ship inspections/ surveys. However, the review retrieved 28 primary studies from the following databases: Scopus, Web of Science, Science Direct, and Google Scholar. Based on the results, various studies have proposed multifarious solutions to overcoming the existing technical and regulatory barriers to the mass deployment of these cutting-edge technologies.

COVID-19 Pandemic, or better known as Coronavirus pandemic, is a current new disease of respiratory ways, and adjustment to life and work in the pandemic conditions is a challenge all organisations in the world, including military ones, have to face with. This paper analyses the influence of the COVID-19 pandemic on the intensity and implementation of surveillance and protection of national interests of the Republic of Croatia within the jurisdiction of the Coast Guard of the Republic of Croatia. A special attention is dedicated to determining how capable the Coast Guard of the Republic of Croatia is in executing all tasks in the pandemic circumstances. The analysis is carried out by comparing selected activities the Coast Guard of the Republic of Croatia carried out in 2020 with activities carried out in the period from 2015 to 2019. In the analysis of the effects which the COVID-9 pandemic had on the intensity and implementation of surveillance and protection of national interests of the Republic of Croatia within the jurisdiction of the Coast Guard, the following performed activities were observed: number of airplane flights, airplane fuel consumption, number of flight hours, number of engaged vessels, number of nautical miles sailed by vessels, number of registered vessel engine working hours, vessel fuel consumption, number of issued mandatory misdemeanour warrants. This paper has a goal to prove that the Coast Guard of the Republic of Croatia, having adjusted to a great extent to new operational circumstances, carries out all its tasks, and this can be best seen through a number of issued misdemeanour warrants, which means that the pandemic didn’t have a decisive negative impact on the work of the Coast Guard of the Republic of Croatia.

At the end of 2019, the new virus called Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) spread widely from China all over the world (including Europe). Most countries in Europe at the beginning of 2020 have been quarantined. The aim of the work is to develop the system dynamics model for assessing the impact of the different factors on the COVID-19 death rate in Europe. There were tested three hypotheses about factors of reducing the COVID-19 death rate with the help of linear regression analysis. The density of the population of European countries doesn’t affect the COVID-19 death rate. Also, COVID-19 death rate does not drastically affect mortality statistics. But the level of country’s economic development is a factor of COVID-19 death rate because in high developed countries the pandemic death rate is lower, regardless of the mechanisms of the spread of the disease and its impact on human health.

Z końcem 2019 r. nowy wirus COVID-19 rozprzestrzenił się z Chin po całym świecie (w tym po Europie). Większość krajów europejskich wiosną 2020 r. wprowadziła powszechną kwarantannę. Celem tej pracy jest opra-cowanie modelu dynamiki systemu pozwalającego określić wpływ różnych czynników na śmiertelność z powodu koronawirusa w Europie. Za pomocą analizy regresji liniowej sprawdzono trzy hipotezy dotyczące czynników zmniejszających śmiertelność COVID-19. Jak się okazuje, gęstość zaludnienia w różnych krajach europejskich nie wpływa na śmiertelność z powodu COVID-19. Ponadto śmiertelność z powodu koronawirusa nie zwiększa w znaczący sposób ogólnych statystyk śmiertelności. Natomiast poziom rozwoju gospodarczego kraju jest już czynnikiem wpływającym na śmiertelności z powodu COVID-19, ponieważ w krajach wysoko rozwiniętych śmiertelność w wyniku pandemii jest niższa, niezależnie od mechanizmów rozprzestrzeniania się choroby i jej wpływu na zdrowie ludzi.

Today, the whole world is struggling with the consequences of spreading of the coronavirus. The situation is unconventional, so also we can approach the recruitment process in an unconventional way. The guidelines cited in this article are only a small part of the legal aspects of distance contracts. They are to make the reader aware that by functioning in times of viral crisis, we are not without tools that can make life signifi cantly easier for the company. However, we must remember that details of intended business processes are always worth consulting with a lawyer.

Jednym z bardziej wrażliwych sektorów całej gospodarki jest szeroko rozumiane budownictwo, które skupia tysiące firm ściśle ze sobą kooperujących. Nic więc dziwnego, że z niepokojem w przyszłość patrzą przedstawiciele spółek związanych z bezwykopową renowacją i budową podziemnych sieci. Co prawda, jeszcze nie dochodzi do masowego wstrzymywania prac, ale nikt nie ukrywa, że należy się z tym liczyć.

One of the most sensitive sectors of the whole economy is, in the broad sense, the construction industry. It brings together thousands of companies that work closely together. No wonder that nowadays representatives of companies involved with trenchless renovation and construction of underground networks are anxious about the future. Admittedly, still there’s no mass hold up, but nobody’s hiding that the industry must be prepared for that due to the pandemic.

Słowo „koronawirus” odmieniane jest w przekazach medialnych przez wszystkie przypadki od kilku miesięcy. Dla tysięcy przedsiębiorców pandemia to nie lada problem, powodujący nade wszystko poważne kłopoty finansowe. Jakie są jej gospodarcze konsekwencje i jakie są możliwości uporania się z kryzysem? Z dnia na dzień rzeczywistość zmieniła się diametralnie, a zawarte dopiero co umowy jeszcze wczoraj były szansą na zysk i rozwój, a dziś mogą być wielką „kulą u nogi”, ściągającą przedsiębiorstwo na dno. Czy polskie prawo przewiduje w takich okolicznościach jakieś koła ratunkowe?

This paper shows the importance of broadly defined health security, illness prevention, and health education, in all possible stages of human life. The paper contains a description of the basic threats to human health security emanating from the coronavirus pandemic. In addition, the author deals extensively with the preventive qualities of educational activities in the development of a sense of human health security. The main idea of the paper demonstrates that health security during the coronavirus pandemic, together with a sense of calm and stagnation, have a fundamental impact on human well-being. All this is combined with the adoption of the appropriate attitudes, while at the same time determining the focus of the concentration of human activity, and therefore of human education, in the times of threats to health.

Treść artykułu pokazuje jak istotnym aspektem jest szeroko pojęte bezpieczeństwo zdrowotne, profilaktyka oraz edukacja zdrowotna we wszystkich możliwych etapach życia człowieka. Artykuł zawiera charakterystykę podstawowych zagrożeń bezpieczeństwa zdrowotnego człowieka wywołanych pandemią koronawirusa. Autor wiele miejsca poświęca profilaktycznym walorom działań edukacyjnych w kształtowaniu poczucia bezpieczeństwa zdrowotnego człowieka. Idea przewodnia artykułu dowodzi, że bezpieczeństwo zdrowotne w dobie panowania pandemii koronawirusa wraz z poczuciem spokoju i stagnacji mają podstawowy wpływ na stan samopoczucia człowieka. Wszystko to łączy się w przyjmowaniu odpowiednich postaw i wyznaczaniu jednocześnie obszar koncentracji działania człowieka, a więc jego edukacji w dobie zagrożeń zdrowotnych.
