Purpose: The paper is an attempt to enter the discussion in the subject literature on elucidating problems in the non-systemic approach to managing the bank as an organization. The purpose of the paper is to identify the contradictions within which banks are managed, and which are aggravated in contingency situations. Due to the sensitive matter of the services they provide, banks are institutions that require special attention particularly now, when the COVID situation is radically testing management quality. Design/methodology/approach: The paper is the result of a literature review. Findings: The epistemological studies conducted have culminated in a framework of contradictory determinants shaping bank management during fast-paced changes in market conditions. The theoretical construct proposed may be a point of departure for empirical verification and further analytic work on the capacity of banks to reconcile the antinomies identified in the paper. Originality/value: The study makes it possible for managers to fill the knowledge gap with respect to areas and implications of the identified contradictions. Awareness of their existence and, as a result, management that supports processes for responding to a volatile environment is particularly useful in crisis situations. The proposed theoretical concept may be applied to identify antinomies or their lack in other areas of management research for various organization types.

TRIZ is systematic approach to innovation, being developed since 1950s. This acronym comes from the original Russian name of the methodology, which is usually translated as Theory of Inventive Problem Solving and sometimes abbreviated as TIPS. This methodology offers several concepts and tools supporting identification of problems and generation of solutions, which are directed towards required improvements. This directed approach differentiates TRIZ from other inventive methods, that usually rely on a trial-and-error formula. In the beginning, TRIZ addressed mainly mechanical systems. This paper presents short introduction to TRIZ, describing some basic concepts necessary to show inventive principles in appropriate perspective. These concepts are then used for presenting application examples coming from computer design domain.

A city as an open dynamic system, consisting of many components that have their own dynamics, exists in conditions of constant internal contradictions. Each of these contradictions separately or in combination forces a city to change in such a way that they do not threaten the existence of the system itself. Architecture, as an artificial environment in which these systemic contradictions take place, also has to react appropriately to them, changing in turn.

Miasto jak otwarty dynamiczny system, składający się z mnóstwa składników posiadających własną dynamikę, istnieje w warunkach stałych wewnętrznych sprzeczności. Każdy z tych konfliktów oddzielnie albo w całokształcie powodują, że miasto zmienia się w ten sposób, żeby nie groziło istnienie samego systemu. Architektura, jako sztuczna część środowiska, w której odbywają się te systemowe sprzeczności, jest zmuszona do elastycznego reagowania na nie, przez na przykład zmianę ich kolejności.

Refleksja nad kwestią zrównoważonego rozwoju jest ufundowana na sprzecznościach. Są to sprzeczności faktyczne (ekonomiczne, polityczne, ekologiczne), jak również sprzeczności teoretyczne (socjologiczne, filozoficzne). W artykule przedstawiam miejsca wrażliwe, które generują sprzeczności faktyczne, a są to: globalizacja - gospodarka - bezrobocie - rozwój technologiczny - bezpieczeństwo - demokracja.

Reflection on the issue of sustainable development is founded on contradictions, both actual (economic, political, ecological) and theoretical (sociological and philosophical). In the article I present sensitive issues, which generate actual contradiction. These issues are as follow: globalisation- economy - unemployment - technological development - security – democracy.

TRIZ methodology is a promising innovative tool to obtain various problem solutions, which are close to so called ideal final result - IFR. There are some introductory papers of present author like [Skoryna 10],[Cempel 12], [Cempel 14]. But it seems to be a need to make such an approachfrom different sides in order to see if some new knowledge and technology will emerge. In doing this we need at first to define the ideal final result (IFR). As a next we need to define a set of engineering parameters to describe the problems of vibration condition monitoring (VCM) in terms of TRIZ parameters, and also a set of inventive principles possible to apply on the way to IFR. This means we should present the machine VCM problem by means of engineering descriptive parameters and contradiction matrix of TRIZ. The paper undertakes this important applicational problem and brings some new insight into system and machine VCM problems. It follows from the paper that one can find 17 contradictions and use one set of inventive principles to solve specified contradiction of VCM problem, and also another set of principles to enhance obtained solution.

Metodologia TRIZ jest obiecującym narzędziem znajdywania rozwiązań problemów blisko tzw. rozwiązania idealnego. W diagnostyce maszyn jest już kilka prac na ten temat [Skoryna 10],[Cempel 12], [Cempel 14]. Ale nie jest to jeszcze podejście kompletne i wydaje się, ze jest cos nowego do znalezienia. W pierwszym rzędzie trzeba znaleźć idealny wynik końcowy, na jaki stan wiedzy i technologii nam zezwala. Następny krok to dobór parametrów opisujących problem, a potem w kategoriach tych parametrów znaleźć sprzeczności, jakie nas dzielą od wyniku idealnego. Likwidując te znalezione w pracy 17 sprzeczności korzystamy z zasad rozwiązujących Altschullera’a dopasowanych do diagnostyki maszyn. Robiąc to w pracy znaleziono dwie grupy zasad, takie, które przybliżają nas do rozwiązania i takie, które poszerzają to rozwiązanie.

But it seems to be a need to make such an approach from different sides in order to see if some new knowledge and technology will emerge. In doing this we need at first to define the ideal final result (IFR). As a next we need a set of engineering parameters to describe the problems of vibration condition monitoring (VCM) in terms of TRIZ parameters, and a set of inventive principles possible to apply on the way to IFR. This means we should present the machine VCM problem by means of contradiction matrix of TRIZ. When specifying the problem parameters and inventive principles, one should use analogy and metaphorical thinking, which by definition is not exact but fuzzy, and leads sometimes to unexpected results and outcomes. The paper undertakes this important applicational problem and brings some new insight into system and machine VCM problems. It follows from the paper that one can use one set of inventive principles to solve specified contradiction of VCM problem, and also another set of inventive principles to enhance obtained solution.

Metodologia TRIZ to obiecujące narzędzie dla rozwiązywania problemów innowacyjnych, bowiem daje możliwość zbliżenia się do rozwiązania idealnego- IFR. Autor napisał kilka prac na ten temat, każda z nich oświetla inny fragment tej metodologii prowadząc do wzbogacenia wniosków. Tym razem pokazano że zasady wynalazcze TRIZ można stosować nie tylko do rozwikłania sprzeczności w parametrach, ale także w tym przypadku kiedy takich sprzeczności nie ma. Wtedy uzyskujemy możliwość polepszenia naszego rozwiązania na drodze do idealnego wyniku końcowego - IFR.

Much has been written about how the world has changed and continues to change at an incredibly rapid pace. Much has also been written about globalization, population demands, water quality, waste management, and maw more oldie issues that confront human kind throughout the world. It is not the authors' purpose in this paper to repeal the familiar maxim: civil engineering education must change to meet the challenges of a rapidly changing world. Instead, the authors clarify the very real risks of the vectors ofpsychological inertia, and describe how systems analysis and the theory of inventive problem solving (TRIZ) justify substantive change in civil engineering education and how that could be accomplished.

In the cycle of constant transformation of culture the time of communication and resulting visual image primacy has come. In consequence, architecture has been reduced to its pure image. Reality as a whole is interpreted through the images it produces and in the processes of knowledge of reality, what is lacking is any analysis of the relationships of cause and effect.

W ciągłej transformacji kultury nastała era komunikacji i prymatu obrazu. W wyniku tych przeobrażeń również architektura została zredukowana do swojego czystego obrazu. Odczytujemy rzeczywistość poprzez obrazy, jakie generuje, a w procesach poznania zaczyna brakować jakiejkolwiek refleksji nad związkiem między przyczyną, a skutkiem.

Strategia informatyzacji w dużych organizacjach gospodarczych powinna być postrzegana jako istotny czynnik wspomagający proces globalizacji gospodarczej. Niestety, wiedza menedżerów dużych organizacji gospodarczych (przedsiębiorstw przemysłowych, instytucji finansowych) w dziedzinie technologii informacyjnych i ich roli w rozwijaniu i utrzymywaniu wiodącej pozycji gospodarczej pozostaje w tyle za strumieniem zmian technologicznych i indukowanych przez nie wyzwań cywilizacyjnych. Artykuł koncentruje się na problemie konstruowania (projektowania) strategii informatyzacji jako wieloaspektowym procesie tworzenia infrastruktury informacyjnej, nieodzownej w prowadzeniu procesów biznesowych.

IT strategy for large scale economic organizations should be considered as a key factor for economic globalization processes. Unfortunately, knowledge of top management people in large companies (from industry and financial institutions) in the field of information technology and their influential role in maintaining a high economic position - is relatively poor and stands apart from changes in technological streams and civilisation challenges. The paper focuses on the problem of the design of IT strategy as a multiaspect process which creates an information infrastructure for business needs.
