Poznan post-industrial areas, still with some remains of industrial buildings from the turn of the century, are slowly disappearing as the sites are being converted, they are “no man’s land”, filled with vacant space and ruins. This paper presents the situation as it is today in the city centre, it attempts to locate the sites and buildings, where production was conducted. Poznan industry in the nineteenth century primarily involved small factories producing food, household chemicals, ferrous products, mechanical products as well as railway and urban infrastructure. The symbols of the situation are the biggest monuments of the industrial architecture of Poznan, the sad fate of which is known only to the citizens of Poznań as well as the Old Brewery, known to the whole Poland.

Tereny poprzemysłowe Poznania, na których znajdują się pozostałości budynków fabrycznych z przełomu wieków powoli znikają. Są przekształcane, stanowią tereny „niczyje” z pustostanami i ruinami. Są śladami gospodarczej historii miasta, która zniknęła gwałtownie po 1989 r. W artykule omówiono sytuację, jaka ma dziś miejsce w centrum miasta, próbę lokalizacji miejsc i budynków, gdzie prowadzona była produkcja. Poznański przemysł w XIX wieku to najczęściej drobne zakłady przemysłu spożywczego, chemii gospodarczej, wyrobów żelaznych, mechanicznych i infrastruktura kolejowa i miejska. Symbolami dawnej świetności są największe i najpiękniejsze zabytki architektury przemysłowej Poznania, których smutny los jest znany tylko mieszkańcom Poznania i Stary Browar, który zna cała Polska.

W artykule podjęto problem bezpieczeństwa społecznego jako jednego z elementów bezpieczeństwa. Uwypuklono rolę i znaczenie państwa w tworzeniu warunków bezpieczeństwa społecznego, wskazując między innymi na niekorzystne zjawiska, takie jak nadmierna polaryzacja rozwoju i polaryzacja dochodów, a także działania, jakie mają służyć poprawie bezpieczeństwa społecznego.

The article presents the problem of societal security as one of the security elements. It emphasizes the role and the importance of a country in creating conditions of societal security, indicating among others unfavorable phenomena such as excessive development and income polarization, as well as actions expected to improve societal security.

One of the more important goals for the state is securing for its citizens social security net within an established safety sphere. In the article the author describes different danger levels and situations (both internal and external) when a given individual or social group may feel that their safety net is broken. Since it is the states responsibility to respond to citizen's needs, it is in its domain to turn for the necessary instruments providing safety improvements of the social sphere.
