W pracy podjęto próbę analizy powojennego budownictwa sakralnego w małych miastach Polski (do 50 tys. mieszkańców) – na przykładzie kościołów wybudowanych po 1945 r. na terenie obecnej archidiecezji częstochowskiej. Omówiono historyczne uwarunkowania procesów inwestycyjnych oraz efekty ilościowe i jakościowe, jakie przyniosły starania inwestorów kościelnych. Przedstawione zagadnienia dotyczące wybranej archidiecezji mogą stanowić reprezentatywny przykład budownictwa sakralnego w małych miastach w Polsce.

The study attempts to analyze the post-war religious architecture in small Polish cities (up to 50 000 inhabitants) – on the example of churches built after 1945 in the archdiocese of Częstochowa. Historical determinants of investment processes as well as quantitative and qualitative effects brought by the efforts of church investors were discussed. The presented issues concerning the selected archdiocese may constitute a representative example of religious architecture in small towns in Poland.

In the post-war years, more than a hundred new religious buildings were built in the area of the present-day Western Pomerania. Contemporary churches represent a great variety of forms, created in many locations, most often as new buildings, but also as expanded and adapted ones. The article analyzes the created buildings and presents descriptions from individual groups of contemporary churchs.

Na terenach obecnego Pomorza Zachodniego w latach powojennych powstało przeszło sto nowych obiektów sakralnych. Współcześnie powstałe kościoły stanowią dużą różnorodność form, powstały w wielu lokalizacjach, najczęściej jako obiekty nowe ale również jako rozbudowy i adaptacje. W artykule przeanalizowano powstałe obiekty i przedstawiono opisy z poszczególnych grup współcześnie powstałych kościołów.

Współczesne świątynie w małych miastach Podlasia są zazwyczaj lokalizowane na ich obrzeżach, wpływając istotnie na zmiany struktury urbanistycznej ośrodków. Na proces realizacji obiektów duży wpływ, obok architektów, mają także duchowieństwo i społeczność parafialna, co ostatecznie kształtuje wizerunek architektoniczny świątyń.

Contemporary temples are located on the outskirts of small towns of Podlasie. It has big matter for changes of town's urbanistic structure. The clergy with parishioners as well as architects have big influence on final image of temples.
