Wide set of experiments has been conducted to examine polycarbonate as a covering material for a sport stadium in Gdansk. The Young's and Poisson's modulus have been identified, the cyclic tests as well as creep tests at room temperature are included. Results of simulation of environmental extreme temperatures during creep and relaxations test are discussed. Mechanical properties of the examined material seems to meet severe technical requirements, but appearance of the micro cracks and crevices in the structure of specimens during experiments makes the polycarbonate plates ineffective construction material.
