W artykule przedstawiono i przeanalizowano konfiguracje modeli biznesu powiązanych z efektywnością funkcjonowania organizacji. Badania przeprowadzono przy wykorzystaniu jakościowej analizy porównawczej na podstawie akademickich przedsiębiorstw odpryskowych. Celem artykułu jest zidentyfikowanie i opisanie konfiguracji modeli biznesu wraz z analizą ich powiązań z wysoką i niską efektywnością badanych przedsiębiorstw. Stwierdzono, że konfiguracje modeli biznesu wykorzystujące wysokiego poziomu zasoby ludzkie i posiadające szeroki dostęp do zasobów finansowych są powiązane z wysoką efektywnością. Ponadto wyodrębnione modele biznesu nie występują w żadnej z dwóch konfiguracji powiązanych z niską efektywnością.

The paper presents and analysis of the business model configurations associated with performance by conducting a qualitative comparative analysis of university spin-off companies. The purpose of this paper is to identify and describe business model configurations, analyze their associations with high and low firm performance, and explore the nature of these associations. The configurations comprising business models leveraging high level human resources and having a wide access to financial resources are associated with high performance was found. In addition, the extracted business models are not featured in any of the two configurations associated with low performance.

Vessels conducting dynamic positioning (DP) operations are usually equipped with thruster configurations that enable the generation of resultant force and moment in any direction. These configurations are deliberately redundant in order to reduce the consequences of thruster failures and increase the safety. On such vessels a thrust allocation system must be used to distribute the control actions determined by the DP controller among the thrusters. The optimal allocation of thrusters’ settings in DP systems is a problem that can be solved by several convex optimization methods depending on criteria and constraints used. The paper presents linear programming (LP) and quadratic programming (QP) methods adopted in the DP control model which is being developed at the Maritime University of Szczecin for ship simulation purposes.

In this paper, we examine P systems with a linear membrane structure, i.e., P systems in which only one membrane is elementary and the output of which is read out as the sequence of membrane labels in the halting configuration or vectors/numbers represented by this sequence. We investigate the computational power of such systems, depending on the number of membrane labels, kinds of rules used, and some other possible restrictions. We prove that two labels, elementary membrane creation and dissolution, together with the usual send-in and send-out rules, suffice to achieve computational completeness, even with the restriction that only one object is allowed to be present in any configuration of the system. On the other hand, limiting the number of labels to one reduces the computational power to the regular sets of non-negative integers. We also consider other possible variants of such P systems, e.g., P systems in which all membranes but one have the same label, P systems with membrane duplication rules, or systems in which multiple objects are allowed to be present in a configuration, and we describe the computational power of all these models.

W komunikacie są opisane zalety wiropłatów bezzałogowych na tle innych rodzajów bezzałogowych statków powietrznych oraz pokazane przykłady współczesnych wiropłatów bezzałogowych: wzorowanych na istniejących śmigłowcach o rozmaitych układach konstrukcyjnych, powstałych przy okazji budowy zmniejszonych modeli latających, lub laboratoryjnych, przeznaczonych do celów badawczych; a także bardzo małych oraz nowatorskich. Aspekty naukowo-badawcze i konstrukcyjne bezzałogowych obiektów latających o układzie wiropłatów są opisane na przykładzie statku powietrznego tego typu projektowanego w Europie przez międzynarodowe konsorcjum.

In the paper advantages of unmanned rotorcraft (rotary unmanned aerial vehicle - RUAV) over the other types of unmanned aerial vehicles are pointed out. Shown are examples of contemporary unmanned rotorcraft: similar to the existing helicopters of various configurations; originated from the flying or laboratory scaled test models; as well as very small (micro) and innovative ones. A RUAV designed in Europe by the international consortium is taken as an example to demonstrate the research and development as well as design aspects of RUAVs.

A model of an intracavity frequency doubled laser pumped by a laser beam was elaborated. The effects connected with mode matching, thermal lensing, pump induced diffraction losses, as well as parameters of frequency conversion and geometry of cavity were considered. An analytical model of the cavity with an internal lens and thermal lensing was derived to optimize output characteristics. Two types of cavity (with and without internal lens) were analyzed and the best configurations with respect to second harmonic output power were found for both cases. The pump induced diffraction losses were found to limit the output power of the frequency doubled laser for high pump levels.
