W pracy przedstawiono wyniki badań zrealizowanych z wykorzystaniem tomografu komputerowego Somatom Definition AS firmy Siemens. Celem przeprowadzonych analiz było określenie struktury badanego materiału w zależności od rozmiaru ziarna. Jako materiał próbek zastosowano następujące gatunki grafitu naturalnego: grafit wielkopłatkowy FG 595, grafit wielkopłatkowy FG 192 oraz grafit drobnopłatkowy MG 192. Materiał próbek (grafit) dostarczyła firma Sinograf.

The article presents the results of the study with the aid of computer tomograph Somatom Definition AS (Siemens). The examined probes were the following natural graphites: FG 595, FG 192, MG 192. The graphite material has been supplied by the firm Sinograf.

W pracy przedstawiono wyniki badań z wykorzystaniem tomografu komputerowego Somatom Sensation 64 firmy Siemens oraz tomografu Somatom Definition AS również firmy Siemens. Jako materiał próbek zastosowano stal C45 o twardości 40 HRC.

The article presents the results of the study on the steel surface conducted with the aid of computer tomographs Somaton Sensation 64 (Siemens) and Somaton Definition AS (Siemens). The examined probes were steel C45 hardness 40 HRC. The aim of the study was to investigate the potential application of computer tomography to examination of the steel surface. The outcome of CAT assisted methods is not satisfactory in the case of steel samples. It seems to be necessary to continue studies in this direction with other materials.
