The issue of organizational boundaries is a problem discussed from the beginning of the development of the theory of management sciences. Today, it seems that this issue should be subjected to a new conceptualization due to the growing importance of multidimensional spaces in which enterprises operate and the erosion of traditionally interpreted boundaries. At the same time, the notion of a boundary itself is an ambigous concept that derived from and rooted mainly in non-management sciences. Therefore, research on organizational boundaries requires an interdisciplinary approach. In the Polish management science environment, the discussion on border issues is clearly visible, although this is not a question that dominates the mainstream. The aim of the article is to contribute to a scientific discussion in the field of conceptualization of organizational boundaries in the context of a changing reality. The article consists of an introduction, a part devoted to the analysis of organizational boundaries in the perspective of heterogeneous spaces and a part related to presenting the problem of the emergence of “new” boundaries. The whole is concluded with a summary. The article is a review based on interdisciplinary literature research.

W artykule omawiany jest problem poprawnego projektowania kontekstowych baz wiedzy. Rozszerzamy w nim definicje wybranych pojęć wprowadzonych przez metodę OntoClean – jedną z najbardziej znanych metod oceny jakości ontologii niekontekstowych. Pozwala nam to na sformułowanie wymagań jakościowych dla projektów uwzględniających semantykę kontekstów. Następnie analizujemy pod kątem tych wymagań metodę projektowania kontekstowych baz wiedzy SIM.

The paper discusses the issue of designing well-founded contextual knowledge bases. Basing on OntoClean, the well-known method of assessment of taxonomies, a set of desirable qualities for context-semantic knowledge bases is introduced. Then it is shown that SIM method of organizing contextual knowledge bases is in accordance with the introduced desiderata.

Punktem wyjścia niniejszego artykułu jest problem wielości tekstów o śmierci jako tabu. Omawiana jest możliwość ich uporządkowania pod względem szeregu zaproponowanych kryteriów. Dokonany w ten sposób przegląd różnorodnych aspektów zjawiska ujawnia zasadniczą oś podziału analizowanych ujęć tabu śmierci. Wyróżnione zostają dwa dominujące podejścia: psychologiczne i socjokulturowe. W dalszej części dyskutowane są możliwości ich empirycznej weryfikacji oraz związane z tym trudności.

The starting point of the article is the problem of a multitude of texts about death as a taboo. The possibility of ordering them in terms of the proposed criteria is discussed. An overview of the various aspects of the phenomenon reveals a fundamental axis that divides the approaches to the problem of the death taboo into two dominant groups: psychological and socio-cultural. In the further part, the author examines the possibilities of the empirical verification of a taboo thesis and also lists some difficulties which may be associated with them.
