Przedmiotem zainteresowania w artykule jest ocena stopnia bezpieczeństwa finansowego przedsiębiorstw transportu lądowego, w tym kolejowego i drogowego transportu towarów, w latach 2007–2016. W warstwie teorio-poznawczej uwaga koncentrowana jest na problematyce kryzysu przedsiębiorstwa, jego rodzajach, przyczynach wystąpienia oraz na identyfikacji i kwantyfikacji symptomów pogarszającej się sytuacji finansowej. Celem dociekań w warstwie empirycznej jest określenie cech badanej zbiorowości przedsiębiorstw pod względem warunków, potencjału i efektywności prowadzonej działalności oraz dokonanie pomiaru i oceny ich stopnia bezpieczeństwa finansowego. Analizie poddano także występujące współzależności wartości miary stopnia bezpieczeństwa finansowego i odsetka sądowych postępowań upadłościowych.

The paper presents the assessment of the financial security of land transport companies, including railway and road transport, in 2007–2016. In its theoretical and cognitive dimension, the paper focuses on corporate crises, types and causes of crises, as well as on the identification and quantification of the symptoms of deteriorating financial conditions. The empirical part of the paper aims to identify the characteristics of the analysed group of companies from the perspective of the conditions, potential and effectiveness of their business activities, and to measure and assess the degree of their financial security. Also, the author analyses correlations between financial security indicators and the percentage of court insolvency cases.

W artykule przedstawiono koncepcję zarządzania produkcją odchudzoną Lean Manufacturing oraz zdefiniowano kategorie marnotrawstwa wg Taichii Ohno. W dalszej części artykułu opisano działania z zakresu Lean Manufacturing, które zostały wdrożone w kopalniach, celem eliminacji strat. Najważniejszym problemem są wysokie koszty wydobycia, zapasów i pracy, dlatego też w pierwszej kolejności kierownictwo kopalni powinno opracować program szkoleń rozwijających świadomość Lean Manufacturing wśród pracowników kopalni.

This paper presents a concept of Lean Manufacturing management and defines the Taiichi Ohno’s Categories of Waste (the 7Ws). Further in this paper the activities of Lean Manufacturing implemented in mines to reduce losses were described. The most important issue is high cost of exploitation, inventory and labor so the first step which should be undertaken by the management of mine is to prepare a training program which developes awareness of Lean Manufacturing among the employees of the mine.

Celem artykułu jest wykazanie, iż przedsiębiorstwa w celu podwyższania efektywności poszukują źródeł kapitału na dogodnych warunkach i po stosunkowo niskim koszcie. W krajach rozwiniętych gospodarczo źródło takie stanowi emisja obligacji korporacyjnych. W niniejszym artykule, na podstawie rozważań teoretycznych oraz na przykładzie spółki Admiral Boats SA, wskazano, iż emisja obligacji na rynku Catalyst może warunkowość wyższą efektywność polskich przedsiębiorstw.

The purpose of this article assumes that firms in order to increase the efficiency, seeking sources of capital on favorable terms and at relatively low cost. In developed economies such source is the issue of corporate bonds. In this paper, based on theoretical considerations and case study of Admiral Boats SA, we notice that the issue of bonds on the Catalyst market may conditionality better effectiveness of Polish companies.

The paper presents the results of empirical studies performed in order to determine the activities leading to identifying and reducing the competence gap in Polish enterprises. The analyses were carried out on 56 companies with the use of a specially designed questionnaire in the form of a categorized interview. While analyzing the obtained results special attention was paid to the method of interpreting the idea of a company’s effectiveness, the effect of interpreting effectiveness on a company’s performance, actions undertaken in order to reduce the competence gap and the influence these actions have on a company’s effectiveness.

W artykule przedstawiono wyniki badań empirycznych przeprowadzonych w celu określenia działań zmierzających do identyfikacji i zniwelowania luki kompetencyjnej w polskich przedsiębiorstwach. Badania, przy wykorzystaniu specjalnie opracowanego kwestionariusza do wywiadu skategoryzowanego, przeprowadzono w 56 przedsiębiorstwach. Analizując uzyskane wyniki, szczególną uwagę zwrócono na sposoby rozumienia pojęcia „efektywność przedsiębiorstwa”, wpływ interpretacji tego pojęcia na rezultaty działalności przedsiębiorstwa, a także działania podejmowane w celu zmniejszenia luki kompetencyjnej i ich wpływ na efektywność firmy.

Background: The concept of integrating the theory of constraints tools in reorganizing management system in a mechanical engineering company was presented in this article. The main aim of the concept is to enable the enterprise to satisfy the customers' expectations at reasonable costs, which allows for making a profit and creating an agile enterprise in the long run. Methods: Due to the individual character of the production process and service process in analyzed company, the described concept using theory of constraints project management (CCPM) and manufacturing (DBR) tools. The authors use performance levels conception to build an integration tool focused on the interaction and collaboration between different departments. The integration tool has been developed and verified in Polish manufacturing company. Results: In described model a tool compatible with CCPM operates on the level of the customer service process. Shop floor is controlled based on the DBR method. The authors hold that the integration of between TOC tools is of key importance. The integration of TOC tools dedicated to managing customer service and shop floor scheduling and controlling requires developing a mechanism for repeated transmitting the information between them. This mechanism has been developed. Conclusions: The conducted research showed that the developed tool integrating CCPM and DBR had a positive impact on the enterprise performance. It enables improving the company performance in meeting target group requirements by focusing on enhancing the efficiency of processes running in the company and tasks processed at particular work stations. The described model has been successfully implemented in one of the Polish mechanical engineering companies.

Wstęp: Artykuł prezentuje koncepcję integracji narzędzi teorii ograniczeń wykorzystaną do reorganizacji funkcjonowania przedsiębiorstwa z branży budowy maszyn. Głównym celem prezentowanej koncepcji jest umożliwienie przedsiębiorstwu zaspakajania potrzeb klientów po racjonalnych kosztach, co ma w konsekwencji doprowadzić do zwiększenia zysków a w perspektywie długofalowej do zbudowania zwinnej organizacji. Metody: Ze względu na jednostkowy charakter procesów produkcji oraz obsługi klienta opisana koncepcja wykorzystuje znane z teorii ograniczeń narzędzia: łańcuch krytyczny oraz werbel-bufor-lina. Autorzy wykorzystali również poziomy efektywności organizacji do zbudowania narzędzia w celu integracji poszczególnych działów przedsiębiorstwa. Zaprezentowany model został opracowany i z sukcesem wdrożony w jednej z polskich firm z branży budowy maszyn. Wyniki: W opracowanym modelu narzędzie CCPM funkcjonuje w obszarze obsługi klienta natomiast narzędzie DBR odpowiada za kontrolę sterowania produkcją. Integracja obu narzędzi wymagała również stworzenia mechanizmu przepływu informacji pomiędzy nimi. Wnioski: Przeprowadzone badania pokazały, że stworzone narzędzie integrujące CCPM oraz DBR miało pozytywny wpływ na efektywność jednego z polskich przedsiębiorstw z branży budowy maszyn. Pozwoliło na poprawę spełniania wymagań klienta poprzez wzrost efektywności procesów funkcjonujących w przedsiębiorstwie oraz zadań realizowanych na pojedynczym stanowisku roboczym.

Issues discussed in the article pertain to the human resources structure and instruments of its improvement in the context of the company effectiveness increase. The discussed issue seems to be important in the situation of radically changing market conditions which force the companies to search for solutions allowing them to meet higher and higher requirements of the competition. Due to the fact that intensification of fixed assets does not bring expected results anymore, the companies are forced to search for sources for their own competitive advantage in the area of non-tangible assets, which are difficult to copy. Therefore currently the quality of human resources is recognized as a key factor determining effectiveness of the company next to the factors of material character, which are ascribed secondary significance. Quality of human resources is determined by particular components of the structural dimension of these resources, i.e. the level of knowledge, skills and motivation to work. The level of quality of human resources determines creativity of employees and promptness of their reactions to changes occurring in their surroundings, which in turn decides about the place of a company in the competitive race for a client. Intellectual possibilities of an employee are a source of affluence of a modern company. However, the lasting advantage on the market can be obtained only by these companies which can effectively manage human resources, i.e. engage, maintain and properly involve the best employees in realization of their targets, avoiding various errors in this process. The problem of measuring the effectiveness of human resources management remains an open question in human resources research.
