The foundation of the social communication system of the Polish police is the press officers of district and city departments, who maintain regular contact with journalists of local and regional media, and incidentally also with national or international mass media. The aim of the 2022 survey was to determine the media relations activities, techniques and tools used by officers. All press officers in the police garrison in the Silesian Voivodeship participated in the research project. 100% of press officers took part in the survey. Responding to the expectations of journalists police officers prefer direct contact with journalists, including 52% by phone. Although press officers consider social media to be a good method of contacting the public (30%), they do not use it themselves in contacts with journalists. They prefer to use the official police website (28%). Police spokesmen, due to the information they have, gain the attention of the mass media and do not have to use modern communication techniques to attract journalists. Maintaining constant contact with journalists, press officers also assessed the level of their professionalism. According to the respondents, TV journalists are characterized by the highest professionalism (41%). In second place are press and radio journalists with a similar number of indications (27% and 24%). The professionalism of Internet editorial staff was rated the worst (8%).

Purpose: The main purpose of this article is to measure the effects of the communication of football sports clubs using social media. An additional aim is to create a versatile, flexible tool for managing online communication. Design/methodology/approach: The method of a taxonomic synthetic development measure was used to achieve the intended purpose. This measure was calculated using data covering the activity of selected sports clubs on Facebook (Meta) from 1 to 10 October 2022 and the users' perception of this activity. The subjects of the study were sports clubs of the highest men's football competition class in Poland. Findings: The study resulted in a ranking of the optimal use of Facebook (Meta) in the communication of clubs with their stakeholders. Research limitations/implications: The main limitations of the study are the variety of factors that may influence the communication management of sports clubs and the fact of similarity between the subjects of the study. The main focus of the paper is to show how data from web statistics can be used. In the future, the method can be adapted to communication management problems. Practical implications: The research method used in the paper is flexible, which allows it to be used freely to find out the effectiveness of companies' social media activities. Companies operating in homogeneous markets are provided with a tool for identifying their competitive positioning in terms of marketing communication. Social implications: It is assumed that, with the optimal application of the proposed statistical method, companies, not only sports clubs, gain a tool to objectively assess their communication management policy through social media. The method replaces the qualitative assessment of this management, the position among different types of media or competitors. Originality/value: The article is aimed at fims operating in a single market, where benchmarking is used in online communication. The novelty is that this is the only application of the taxonomic method of synthetic development measure in the management of communication through social media.

Culture in an organisation, also in university, is under the impact of numerous factors resulting from both external and internal environment. The characteristic features of organisational culture include: an organisational scenario, philosophy on which the organisation's policy is based, the core of the values which determine the company's philosophy and mission, organisational climate, attitude towards work, the degree of personal responsibility for work, achieving progress in the organisation and customary and traditional ways of thinking and acting. Organisational culture of the university has an impact on the forms used for internal communication. Author made an attempt to identify the organisational culture of some of the university's employees and students. The purpose was to establish what type of culture prevails in that institution and also studied the used forms of communication between teachers and students.

Kultura w organizacji, także na uniwersytetach, znajduje się pod wpływem wielu czynników wynikających zarówno z otoczenia zewnętrznego, jak i wewnętrznego. Charakterystyczne cechy kultury organizacyjnej to: scenariusz organizacyjny, filozofia, na której opiera się polityka organizacji, rdzeń wartości determinujących filozofię i misję firmy, klimat organizacyjny, stosunek do pracy, stopień osobistej odpowiedzialności za pracę, osiąganie postępu w organizacji i zwyczajowe sposoby myślenia i działania. Kultura organizacyjna uniwersytetu ma wpływ na formy wykorzystywane do komunikacji wewnętrznej. Autorka próbowała zidentyfikować kulturę organizacyjną niektórych pracowników uczelni i studentów. Celem było ustalenie typu kultury w tej uczelni, a także zbadanie stosowanych form komunikacji między nauczycielami i studentami.

Prawidłowe zarządzanie oraz organizacja jest nieodłącznym elementem realizacji efektywnego transportu. Transport miejski bezpośrednio wpisuję się w politykę długofalowych zmian sterowania ruchem. Kluczem do uzyskania komunikacji miejskiej na wysokim poziome jakości jest skuteczny sposób organizacji pracy poszczególnych przewoźników. W artykule omówiono istotę zarządzania oraz organizacji komunikacji miejskiej w Lublinie na przestrzeni ostatnich lat. Dodatkowo przedstawiono korelację dwóch pojęć: zarządzania komunikacją miejską w stosunku do stanu technicznego infrastruktury transportowej.

The correct management and organization is an integral part of the implementation of efficient transport. Urban transport directly inherent in the policy long term changes in traffic control. The key to getting public transport at a high level of quality is an effective way of organizing the work of individual carriers. The article discusses the essence of management and organization of public transport in Lublin in recent years. In addition, it shows the correlation between the two concepts: the management of public transport in relation to the technical state of transport infrastructure.

W artykule omówiona został praktyka wdrażania innowacji w modelach organizacji i zarządzania komunikacją zbiorową. Przedstawiono zasady Karty Miejskiej jako istotnego elementu rozwoju nowoczesnych rozwiązań zarządczych stosowanych w sferze usług publicznych, tj.: komunikacji zbiorowej. W części pierwszej przedstawiono wybrane zagadnienia teoretyczne dotyczące innowacji w kontekście ich znaczenia dla funkcjonowania i rozwoju komunikacji zbiorowej. Przedmiotem rozważań ujętych w drugiej części artykułu jest analiza porównawcza rozwiązań innowacyjnych stosowanych w komunikacji zbiorowej przez wybrane samorządy miast w Polsce.

The first part presented selected theoretical issues on innovation in the context of their importance for the functioning and development of public transport. The subject of the considerations contained in the second part of the article was a comparative analysis of innovative solutions used in public transport by selected cities governments in Poland.

Prasa samorządowa, mimo pojawiających się kontrowersji wokół jej edycji, może pełnić społecznie ważną rolę jako podmiot rynku medialnego wypełniający większość funkcji prasy lokalnej (poza kontrolną). Właściwie realizując zadania komunikacyjne nie tylko dostarcza mieszkańcom wiarygodnych, rzetelnych i sprawdzonych informacji, ale może również występować jako czynnik sprzyjający partycypacji obywatelskiej. Podejmując tematykę lokalną i sublokalną w sposób atrakcyjny czytelniczo, lecz pozbawiony elementów charakterystycznych dla tabloidów, bezceremonialnie rywalizujących o pozyskanie uwagi odbiorców, prasa samorządowa powinna się przyczyniać do aktywizacji i integracji mieszkańców.

Binding regulations in Poland allow and partly oblige self-governments to undertake communication activities in the scope of information and promotion. For executing these tasks self-governments can undertake cooperation with external entities based on media relations activity or by disclosing advertising content. Independently self-government can act as an entity on media market directly editing self-governmental press or commissioning publishing to the entities which are supervised by the self-government.

The current separation of communication systems and navigational systems on the ships bridge doesn’t meet the requirements of the e-navigation concept of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) for safe navigation to include all means and information in the decision making. Hydrographical, meteorolog-ical and safety related information is presented on the communication equipment without filtering or as print-outs solely. A task oriented integration and presentation of this information on the navigational displays will support the officers in their decision making and enhance the safety of navigation. The core element onboard for the integration is the INS (Integrated Navigation System) concept of the IMO where a task and situation dependent presentation of information is specified based on a modular concept. Information should be auto-matically processed, filtered and integrated in the navigational information systems to support the users in their tasks. To achieve this goal a concept for communication management was developed. An Applied Cog-nitive Work Analysis (ACWA) is conducted to identify requirements for the design of a communication man-agement system based on the cognitive processes of the operators. This paper describes the concept for com-munication management and, as a first result, gives the description of the domain of maritime communication that provides a basis for the identification of requirements for communication management in the framework of the e-navigation concept.

Effective communication management is a crucial component of project management as it reduces non-productive effort, prevents duplication, helps to eliminate mistakes, manage uncertainty and generate ideas that lead to better solutions. It also encourages team-work, increases motivation and ensures the involvement of all team members. The larger the project, the more significant communication is for the results, because communication is the coordinating mechanism, which most strongly influences the results. That is why we should search for methods and tools to support this area of project management. The aim of the paper is to present the recent findings concerning methods and tools supporting communication processes, which are mostly used by project teams, kinds of communication, which prevail in realization of projects and kinds of media, indicated as the most popular among project team members. The paper also depicts the project managers' opinion concerning the factors, which cause communication problems as well as those, which influence improvement of communication processes.

Continuity of communication in companies seems to be the most significant factor in managing an organisation and in forming its external image. It can be clearly visible during a crisis situation when the process of forming and distributing information is of considerable significance; moreover, the way of managing communication translates directly into results. The main goal of this article is to present communication management in a crisis situation as a conscious tool supporting managing processes in an organisation. Crisis and communication definitions are explained together with their components. Communication barriers limiting its proper and efficient management have been described along with preparations to build a well thought-out communication plan.
