Artykuł omawia wpływ „urządzeń obcych” na mosty stalowe. Autorzy analizują kwestie techniczne problematyki oraz konflikty interesów z zarządcami urządzeń. Przedstawiono też nowe wytyczne WR-M-72 zalecające m.in. umieszczanie urządzeń na niezależnych konstrukcjach i spełnianie standardów.

„External devices” which are installed over various types of obstacles using existing, operating bridges serve various purposes, most often the transmission of gas, water, heat, and sewage, and increasingly also as teletechnical networks. As the name itself implies, they are „external” to a bridge structure. Nevertheless, we are all aware that they also serve common purposes. For this reason, there is a lasting conflict between bridge engineers and the administration of these devices, which, despite many attempts, has still not been properly sorted out. This issue is described in detail in the paper.
